Flanigan Flats Posted March 6 Posted March 6 This an unadulterated TTN in pretty decent shape. There are a few very light handling marks on the stock and the bottom of the stock has a different shade than the rest of the stock. Maybe it had a cover on it at some point?? To be honest it has sat in my cowboy gun cabinet for a long time and hasn’t been used much by me and if I’m being honest I don’t remember where I got the dang thing. I can do $650 insured and shipped to your FFL. First I’ll take it followed by a DM. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions.
Choctaw Jack Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Couldn't have been used too much, it's still got the "thumb slicers" on it!😁
Flanigan Flats Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 Sold pending funds to Slick McClade!! Thank you very much.

Choctaw Jack Posted March 14 Posted March 14 They are the ridges on top of the hammers, supposed to give better "traction" to your thumb while cocking. These can be quite painful, and in some cases cause damage to the skin. Few careful strokes with a file will take care of these, followed by a little cold blue, makes things a lot more pleasant, IMHO. Choctaw

Irish Pat Posted March 14 Posted March 14 this is a great deal on a like new hammer gun that is hard to find. I have two and have been very impressed by mine. they are copied from a Colt 1878 10 gauge shotgun that make them extra strong in 12 gauge and they can handle 3 inch buckshot if you are tough enough
Slick McClade Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Guys, I just wanna put out some clarity, this is a phenomenal price on this Shotgun. Not that this is important, but I don’t want anyone to think that there was something wrong with the Shotgun because I backed out. The only reason I had to back out was for some unforeseen personal issues and came up today. The seller is a great guy to deal with, and unfortunately, it was just life and bad timing on my end. So if you’re looking for a TTN, trust me, this is a deal. Slick
Make Your Mark Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Choctaw Jack, I have to ask has anyone ever told you your hands were soft as a baby's butt? Black Bart Sr. I just bought a 45-70 from Flanigan. Very happy with the purchase and Flannigan is a good pard.
Choctaw Jack Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Mark, After nearly 60 years as a butcher, my hands are probably softer than most. When I first started looking at hammered doubles, the advice I received most often (especially on the TTNs ) was to smooth the hammers. When I bought mine, I found out why. And as to having soft hands, my wife of nearly 50 years has never complained! Choctaw

However this one is a good discount. Those "barbs" or "eyelashes" on the hammers are, I believe, a leftover from when shotguns were all percussion, and that little extension was supposed to block flash from the cap. (or something like that )
