I’ve “Won the Day” fifteen times, according to the box below my profile picture.  Doesn’t mean much! Just so many posts because I’m not physically active right now and I have too much time on my hands!!

 

It says that I’m in the top 1% , but it says the same thing about everyone else I’ve checked!!

Back around 98 or '99, we got another new version of wire. And on this one you could "friend" people. And for the first three or four months everybody was wanting to friend everybody else.

 

I asked, several times, but nobody seemed to know. What is the advantage of friending people? I friend Utah Bob. What does it get me? What does it get Bob? Nobody knew. But everybody wanted to do it.

 

Then about 2000 when we got the next version I think that friend crap went away.

It broke. Someone called someone. It is fixed. I don't expect more. I want more, but that is not the forum level of this organization and a forum with better uptime will have a lot more advertising on it to pay for that support. I do know a guy who would do likely host the site for SASS, but like the ad-free environment here.

 

He would have ads. Car ads, insurance ads,  Booze. Movie streaming services. Flood lights. Banking/credit cards. Just looked at two of the sites he hosts and those were the ads at the moment.
