I just sent in my $69.00 and for the record I won't be going to any state or regional shoots where you need to be a member. I just support the sport.

Just MHO

I haven't been to a State or Regional since 2020 and haven't been to a local match in well over two years yet still send in the $69 for membership fees. Can't say that I'll be able to do that forever, but I can for now.

I still go to at least 2 a month and I try and go to three local 3 day shoots.
I also do a Rimfire Challenge shoot at my home club once a month. All .22’s, it’s a whole lot of fun!

I had to stop going to CAS meets about 12 b years ago, but I intend to be a member of SASS and a supporter of the 2nd amendment for as long as I am able to do so.

I have a ton of guns, but I've become more of a collector than a shooter.

To all who responded to my “Suggestion” post. For the most part, they were positive, and I thank you most sincerely. To one Cowboy in particular, I am deeply grateful. My original thought was there are others like me, seldom playing and paying no dues, and maybe half dues would persuade them to return to supporting SASS. Now that I am once again fully invested, I will remain for whatever time I have left. I will also resume wearing my Regulator badge. I didn’t think it fair to wear it while not a paying member. I joined SASS in 1992, directed matches for ten years, and have many fond memories. Amigos, I wish you all good health. Again, thank you.

Sounds like me.  I simply can't drive to matches, work the stages, or any of the rest.  I still shoot every week or so at local ranges, but haven't shot a match in about a dozen years.....and I'm not a collector.

I'm an accumulator.

I started getting rid of some guns a few years ago but I have more now than when I started.  Go figure.

I might go to a state or higher match some day. Might not. Besides supporting the sport and getting  the magazine, I pay to keep my chosen alias. Not that anyone else would want it, but they do become fair game when dues are not paid up.

There may come a time when I can not afford it, but OK for now.

I started paying my annual membership again recently due to the “Photo Copyright Mess”.  I let my membership lapse in ‘22 when I retired as I decided I was no longer going to shoot CAS matches. The last match I shot was in 2019 just before Covid hit. My heart was no longer into Cowboy Action Shooting matches. I am not going to go into “Why”. I’ll just say it no longer interested me.

I will definitely maintain my membership even though I won’t be shooting matches just so I can come here and hang out with my Saloonatic Pards. :D

Well, our renewal notice came today.  Uno is urging me to let it lapse.  We haven't shot a match in 12 years.  Our "local" club is gone and the next closest is quite a distance.  We will see  how things evolve but if we will be required to be members to post here, we will likely ride off into the sunset.

I dropped out briefly, but came back with the Copyright thing.  $69 divided by 365 comes to just under 19 cents a day.  Certainly worth it for the company, at least to me.  I'm sure a couple costs more.  I don't believe anything is blocked for non members but posting items for sale.  Could be wrong.

Since there's been support from headquarters to have the wire free for everyone, I think you should stay with us. Many of our regular contributors are "guests". As we get older $70 here and $70 there can make a difference in our fixed income budgets.

I most likely will not visit the USA again but I like to stay a SASS member [  19 yrs ]...just wish I had the sense back then or even when our Aussie dollar was stronger to take up Life membership..$900US now equates to roughly $1300 AU which is just too much .

I just re-upped my annual.  Wish I had got the life back when I started, seems like it was under $400 because i swear I remember when it went up to $400 and I was wishing I had done it back then as well.  I figure I have more than paid for a life membership with over 30 years of annuals, but a little each year is so much easier than a lump sum all at once.

please everyone stay till someone tells you you cant , id rather not loose any of you , if i was wealthy id pay your dues , sorry thats not the case , but i dont want to loose you , just my 2 cents here , hope that helps , there is nonone here hat has ever made me feel unwelcome , i cant imagine making anyone else feel unwelcome ,,

but having said that id like anyone thats not a SASS member to have to identify as that , just so we know who we are  responding to , if no skin in the game we can adjust our responses , ive admitted im a life member - i register under my  SASS number , i think a bit of honesty is not too much to ask ,
