I could buy one for $25 less online, but then I would have to pay shipping and processing. I think I did okay.

I know a lot of people now hate gun shows because of a variety of reasons;

High prices

Too many tactical guns

Not enough classic guns

Too many non-firearms related vendors

And the list goes on…

I like going to gun shows. Sure, the list above sometimes comes into play for me too, but overall I enjoy going to gun shows.
Gun shows here in WV are kind of small compared to shows I have been to out west, but they’re still fun and one can find the occasional Easter Egg.
The biggest gun show around is in Washington, PA. It reminds me of the Gun Shows in Southern California years ago. Lots of vendors with lots of variety.

Next Saturday I have a .22LR 50 yards match at my range. Afterwards I am hitting a little jewel of a Gun Show in Clarksburg, WV. Probably the homiest Gun Show I have ever attended. I think everyone there knows each other.  Lots of friendly people there.
I bought the gun I posted above at that Gun Show. It was the most pleasurable gun but I have ever made. They offered me coffee and a donut while I filled out my 4473. That’s a first for me.

Love going to Gun Shows!

I agree Pat, I like going to gun shows even though I rarely find any jewels to speak of. I've sold a couple guns that I had no use for and that worked out great! It's something to do and ya never know what you'll find.

I went a few weeks ago, just for S&Gs. as I hadn't been in a couple years. Around here they're not that good anymore. VERY few personal sellers, and the dealers are overpriced.

I was looking forward to shopping with Miwall. They're a ammo reloading outfit out of Ca. and they usually have a HUGE display with everything you care to get. Not this time. They were about a third of what they had been, and unless you were looking for 9mm or .223, not a lot to choose from. And they were about the only large ammo seller there. There was one other outfit with lots of ammo, BUT, you guessed it, overpriced.

The other reason I went there was for cleaning gear. There are normally several sellers with multiple tables of the stuff. Not this time. When I got home, I ordered what I needed from Amazon. No holster guys, no gun rug guys. Now if I had been a collector looking to spend several thousand $$$$ on something, I would have been in luck, but for ME, not so much.

Sorry to say that it reminded me why I stopped going to gun shows. Maybe when the economy comes back. Maybe.

I have no reason to ever go to our local gun shows again......for ALL of the reasons above plus the fact that, as big as the venue is, the crowds are ridiculously huge and I don't deal well with dude a--holes.  (Including many of the vendors.)

I might try some others if they aren't too far away, but this same loacation has marvelous home improvement shows and others.

The gun show people really need to get a grip on a decent planning and management system.

I regularly attend our local gun show. It is a fund raiser for the Audie Murphy / American Cotton Museum. The museum always has a couple tables of firearms and related items from their collection. The local Honor Guard works the doors.

The last 2 shows I sponsored the Local DAV Auxiliary so they could have a table to use. They raffle off firearms to raise money for their veteran programs.

I've gotten a few good deals over the years. Because I take time to visit with the vendors most know me by name.  Last show I got a really good deal from a vendor I know on an Original Winchester 1892 in 44-40. Made in 1897. The bore is dark but not pitted.

I found a company online called Maryland Munitions Inc. Really good deals on ammo. I was pleased to find that they are also doing the gun show circuit here and the prices on a lot of their ammo is pre-Covid pricing. It’s a family owned and run business.
A lot of the vendors at the shows here are locals to West Virginia, Maryland or Pennsylvania.
The gun shows here are really nice. I missed the gun shows of the old days in California. It’s nice to see that they still exist around here.

Last weekend our local gun club had a swap meet / gun show. 30+ tables loaded with some great deals. I got a new in box H&R Pardner in 20 gauge for 160. Two 100round boxes of CCI shorts for 5 bucks each and a box of S&B 8mm for 10 bucks. Lots of powder at very reasonable costs. Lots of great deals on all kinds of shooting related items. Wish the big shows were like this.
