Subdeacon Joe Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Baseball! Televised! Dodgers v. Cubs. Yeah, preseason, but BASEBALL! It was a bit confusing at first glance. Dodgers on defense, dark blue caps, dark blue shirts. Cubs at bat, dark blue helmets, dark blue shirts. 1 1 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Geeeezzzz.....Dodger pitcher just took a 110mph comeback to the head! Fortunately he was able to walk off after a couple of minutes. 2 Quote

Alpo Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) Did the batter run the bases? He appeared to start to run, then saw the picturePITCHER on the ground and came to a stop, and then the camera never come back on him again so - what did he do? What would be the correct official thing to do in that case? You get hit in the leg or the arm or something the batter would ignore it and run but - a headshot?? Edited February 20 by Alpo otto don't play baseball Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Runner on base scored, I think just the batter ended up on 2nd. Quote

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I looked at prices for streaming baseball. Ooops, nope, I can find cheaper things to help me take a nap. 3 Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 My home team the Indians...uh...Guardians...Have yet to announce where we can watch games on cable. They have a streaming pkg for $99.00, I'm not sure if I can stream on my tv and I don't want to watch on my IPad. I may not be watching any baseball this year! Quote

Maybe you could stream it that way? Treat yourself. You enjoy baseball. Why cause yourself distress over a fee and a small degree of difficulty. Life’s too short! 1 Quote

Rye Miles #13621 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I’ve seen a few preseason games and it’s mostly minor leaguers trying to to make the team. Kinda boring.🙄 1 Quote

I've got other things to do in the morning. MLB is such a stupid organization! Opening day in Japan?? OVAVAY!!!! Edited March 18 by Rye Miles #13621 1 Quote

DeaconKC Posted March 20 Posted March 20 (edited) The Missus and I are in Florida for a getaway and have been to two Cardinal's games so far [one more Friday]. Great time, much more fun than Busch Stadium. Yeah, we don't get to see the entire starting team, but definitely a great way to spend an afternoon. Some observations on the changes of the game. One, the Pitch Clock is one of the smartest things MLB has done. Two, they are trying out a couple of new things, framing the Strike Zone by computer, which leads to the other side, that the pitcher, batter and catcher can ask for a review of a called strike or ball. Only two challenges per team and if they win the challenge, they keep their challenge. Since Managers can't go and argue Billy Martin style anymore, it has worked pretty well. GO CARDS!
