T Bone Johnson Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Outlaw Bullets is taking pre-orders for the SASS Florida State Championship, April 3rd thru the 6th, 2025 We have two new bullets in production, one for smokeless and BP and one for black powder only. The Combo bullet is a custom design. 45-160-RF, we made the lube groove a little taller to hold more lube. We tested these in pistols using White Label Lubes "BPCR". They hold more than enough lube for handguns and maybe enough for short rifles, depending on your wiping routine between stages. The main purpose for adding this bullet is a light weight 45 bullet for the special case and of course the colt case. We are selling these with smokeless lube or un-sized/un-lubed for $40 per 500 count and also we are test marketing 100 count boxes with two trays of 50, pre-lubed with BPCR lube for $20/100. These trays keep the bullets from touching one another. We have to use the star sizer and place each bullet into the tray as it comes from the sizer. Very slow process. The second bullet is a dedicated black powder bullet. A lot you already know this one, it is the Accurate 43-205C. A proven bp bullet and used by many SASS shooters already. This will be our first bullet in what we are calling "BPXL" series BLACK POWDER XTRA LUBE. These will be sold for $40/400, un-sized and un-lubed. We will also test market some pre lubed for $20/100. Initial sizing will be .429 unless you need something else. Depending on sales we would like to add a 45 "bpxl" but would like to know the shooter's preferences before investing in this mold. Please stop by the tent and let us know about your bp needs. Please visit our website at "outlawbullets.com" to see our standard selection and to pre-order you can use the "contact us" form or email, tony@outlawbullets.com or just reply to this thread. Do not order on the website if your picking up at the last stand. It will auto charge shipping. We already have a list going in the shop and are packing and marking sold as the pre-orders come in. Just a little over a month left. Cash or checks is fine while on location. We moved Outlaw from Florida to Georgia last spring about a year ago and would like to thank all our customers and supporters for a fantastic first year, We couldn't be happier and hope all our customer's feel the same. Please stop by our tent, we love to jaw-bone. T Bone Johnson 1 Quote
Jackalope Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I got to try out some of the Outlaw 160 grain .45 bullets a week or so ago. The weather was dry and near 60 degrees. I don't know what the humidity was, but would bet it was fairly low. Unfortunately, I did not chronograph the load. The details: 1. Sized them with a .454 RCBS die. Die barely touched the bearing surface of the bullet. 2. Lubed them with homemade 50/50 blend of 100% natural beeswax and store brand Crisco. 3. Loaded them in Starline .45 Colt cartridges with Federal Large Pistol primers and 37 grains of Goex FFFg. 4. Crimped them with a Lee factory crimp die. 5. Shot them through 4 3/4 inch Uberti revolvers. 6. Lots of noise, flame, and smoke. Definitely a crowd pleaser. 7. Consistent with the bullet weight, there was not much in the way of recoil. 8. Cylinder faces and muzzles were covered with soft BP residue after each stage. 9. As always, guns were easy to clean and no trace of leading was seen. 10. Most significantly, all of the bullets hit their intended targets and knockdown targets tipped easily! If you're looking for a light-weight .45 caliber bullet, I highly recommend these! 1 Quote
