Unexpected Bill Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 First thing I’ll say is Mild Bill has probably mentored, assisted and inspired more people to get in the game and then become a true “Cowboy” than most that frequent this wire. He has started one club and ran it for over ten years, then assisted a second club with donations, materials, props and freely given wisdom to many. Our current club, The Quinton Mavericks in South Jersey is the current beneficiary of a lot of his talents, wisdom and inspiration. As a result of his subtle, gentlemen ways, we have adopted the attitude of being a teaching club. Meaning we teach rules, techniques and skills openly to all who come into our game with just a person asking, and many times just by giving a hint that we can help you if you need it or want it, As a result of his leadership, after every match we have a chat and chew and we generally have between 60 to 80 % of our shooters showing up to break bread and share the end of the day with each other. He inspires by his attitude and his actions each and every match. Many shooters find a “gift left in a cart or car, left for you to find at the end of the match or when we get home. Many of us, have embraced his leadership and it’s disappointing for me to see how many have reacted so poorly to a simple question. To those who have stood up for Mild Bill and donated his renewal, God Bless you and welcome to his admiration club! Yes, I am a beneficiary of his guidance, friendship and inspiration, and I feel blessed to be so.
Geronimo Jim SASS # 21775 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Everyone who has posted on this thread..........PLEASE read the entire post of Unexpected Bill's.......also a fine gentleman. I find some post in this thread pretty far from the true cowboy way....especial when aimed at someone who has do so much for our sport over so many years.

watab kid Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 i dont see any issue with the suggestion but its up to the SASS leadership to decide if they would accept this vas an option , i hope they review it and decide to weigh in soon as there are a growing number of folks falling into this area - not by choice but by life , i dont think we want to loose these contributes
Mild Bill #2326 Posted February 23, 2025 Author Posted February 23, 2025 Dapper Dave, your kindness is deeply appreciated. However, I’m now back in the bunkhouse of SASS. Warm regards.

Scarlett Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 A way to honor your commitment to SASS and maintain your budget could be to make a donation to the SASS Scholarship Fund. It’s a wonderful way to “Pay Forward” what you’ve given to and done for the sport to the up and comers! I’ve written recommendations for and known a LOT of SASS Scholarship recipients - and they are a remarkable group. Thank you for all that you have contributed to the sport! Much love and hugs! Scarlett
