RIDGE WALKER Posted February 23 Posted February 23 By chance do you have a factory letter on the M58 verifying it left the factory with nickel finish? Quote

No letter. The crying shame is there was a box. Prior owner had a stack of factory boxes but when I went to pick it up he had given the box to another person who bought a different gun. As far as he was concerned they were "just boxes". barf. 1 1 1 Quote

I see a large "N" on the rear face of the cylinder. There should also be one on the grip frame, under the left side stock. Looking at the fit of the side plate, the case hardening on the trigger & hammer and the depth of the stampings, I'd call that one a factory nickel. Edited March 14 by Muley Gil SASS # 57795 Quote
Earl Brasse, SASS #3562 Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Howdy Muley, Thanks for the help Yes, there is a large "N" on the rear face of the cylinder also one on the grip frame, under the left side stock. Maybe it needs to go to GB for bigger crowd? 1 1 Quote
RIDGE WALKER Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) I would suggest putting it on the SWCA forum (Smith & Wesson Collectors Association) since that's where most S&W folks lurk. https://smith-wessonforum.com/forum.php Nice piece and yes, the "N" would indicate a factory nickel gun........I missed seeing that when I first looked at your photos.
