Ashley D Austin Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Is there anyway to determine if an alias is already in use before submitting a New Member Registration form? I am asking this because it can take sometime to find out a preferred alias is already taken and a request for a new member to chose a different one is received. And, this in turn could affect registering for a SASS sanctioned match. Quote

X Mark Posted February 14 Posted February 14 There used to be an "Alias Look-up" field but I don't know where that was moved to after the website was changed.. Quote
Doc Moses Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Calling is best. Call with two or three alias in mind. You claim the unused one and you are set. If you do it on the form and your 1st choice is taken you have to start over. Phone it in and you are finished in one try. Worked for me. 2 Quote

Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 If you click on the search box above and click on 'members' and enter your chosen alias, it might give you some info. If an alias is present there, then you might as well pick another. If it is not present, then it may be available. This can save you some time. Certainly not as good as the previous Alias Lookup feature but much better than nothing. 1 Quote
Chief Rick Posted February 14 Posted February 14 As said above, call. They've been in PA for the Great American Outdoor Show this week but should be in the office all next week. I sent an e-mail to Ruby this morning and she called be back not too long ago. Quote

That would only work if they are signed up for the Wire - not all members are. 4 minutes ago, Chief Rick said: As said above, call. Also remember they will be headed to Arizona soon for EOT. 1 Quote

That's why you can only use it for a process of elimination. But many people who never post on the Wire are listed there. Quote

So an alias might again be available. 1 Quote
