Alpo Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Anybody ever put pepperoni on their hamburger? This is an Independence Day strip, and Doc is feeding everybody. So along with the hamburger and the cheese he slices pepperoni into the cannon before shooting cheeseburgers at his crew. https://www.the-whiteboard.com/autotwb4th-15.html I've heard of people putting strange things on a burger but this is new to me. Blackwater 53393 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I’ve done it a time or two when I didn’t have any bacon! ZESTY!! I frequently blend in some chorizo when I make burger patties myself. I love the extra flavor!! 2 Quote

Pat Riot Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Pepperoni? Sure. Things I have put or had put on burgers that are outside American convention: - Hard Salami, Ham & Provolone - Cole slaw - Mozzarella, Provolone, Mayo & pizza sauce. - Various roasted peppers - Ortega are my favorite. - Cheesesteak sammich ingredients with mayo. - Ham steak - it’s a ham-burger, right? Just ham steak ham and mustard. It’s good. - Split hot dogs. - Smoked Texas beef brisket with bbq sauce - Over easy eggs, potato cake, bacon and ketchup - it’s messy but goooood. Mmmmm! You’ll need a knife and fork…or a bib - Grilled shark meat - Lobster or shrimp. Surf & Turf - Pizza burger - hamburger between pizza slices. ALSO - added bonus; go to Costco or Sam’s club and order a hot dog (naked, no bun) and a slice of pepperoni pizza (or cheese pizza) roll the bog up in the pizza. It’s great! That’s enough for now. I’m making myself hungry. 1 2 Quote

They put burgers on glazed donuts as buns. I tried it. Didn’t really like it. Quote

Cypress Sun Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Grape jelly on a plain bacon double cheeseburger. Don't laugh until you try it! 1 2 1 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) This needs a very coarse grind on the meat to work well. Pretzel bun, top hollowed out some, sauerbraten gravy, rotkohl, and sauerkraut. Put gravy on the bottom bun, meat, a little gravy on the meat, sauerkraut, rotkohl, a little gravy painted inside the top bun. Bratkartoffeln (potatoes boiled, sliced, fried crisp in butter or lard, topped with crumbled bacon and chopped onions) on the side. And a beer. Edited February 14 by Subdeacon Joe 2 Quote

Alpo Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 There was an NCIS episode. This guy gets out of prison after 20 years, and they think his old Street gang is trying to kill him, so they got him in protective custody. He is staying with Torres. And the first morning he makes breakfast. And Nick is looking - oh man this looks so good. And the guy says, "now for my secret ingredient", and he picks up a jar. "Grape jelly". Nick said he didn't want grape jelly on fried eggs, but the ex-con told him that he put grape jelly on everything. It made everything better. Maybe Cypress saw that episode, and it gave him the idea. 2 Quote

When I was a kid, we used to make grape jelly and cheddar cheese sandwiches. That morphed into grape jelly grilled cheese sandwiches. On a wild hair, I decided to try grape jelly on a takeout double cheeseburger and liked it. I'll eat it about once a year. Usually, I like 1000 Islands on a bacon cheeseburger. 2 Quote
