How do I get rid of this and get something much better (hopefully)?

For each browser that you use, possibly only one, go into settings and do whatever incantations are needed to make changes.   I mostly work to get rid of yahoo.

Nothing better than Duck Duck Go. It doesn’t track you like Google! I’ve been using it for probably 5/6 years with no issues!

DDG is the only search engine that gives you this:

 

 

Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc… All track you and sell your information. They tailor ads to your searches and they tailor your searches to meet their advertising needs. DDG does not do that. 
DDG does use Bing for searches but none of your information gets to Bing and they can’t get to yours thru DDG.

You can also set up your incoming email to go through DDG with a Duck.com email address. I use Yahoo email but when I list my address for others I have a duck.com address. When they send me an email DDG scrubs trackers from it. 
I have been considering going DDG Pro for even more protection. 
 

Not sure why you don’t like DDG, but I think you should reconsider.

I have used ddg for over ten years.  My other pages stay very clean, without ads based on my goobernet searches.

I did some searches:

Ammoseek

NRA

The High Road

Glock

 

All the results were no nonsense direct results. No political or anti-gun results. 
I may have to get the app for this one too.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong.  (Pobody's nerfect.) I'll check it out and may reconsider.  I may...probably will... ask for help, too.

 

Being computer stupid has some advantages, but there are all sorts of downdides too,  Thanks folks.

Which browser do you like? I use FireFox on my PC, but have kept Google on my Android phone.

I only use DDG. No complaints and they don't track, or at least less.
