A one of being escorted by a one of - that's the last flying Privateer escorting her. She lives in Casa Grande, see her almost every day going to and from work, owner flies her regularly.

Edit to say, what a shame, she will never move under her own power again.

Why?  Saw one in Lake Michigan just off the peninsula at the Chicago lakefront when I was a kid.

They’re extraordinarily expensive to keep airworthy under normal circumstances. These last two (Hawaii and Philippine Mars) have reached their life limits and would require millions to refurbish. Sort of like making the Queen Mary seaworthy again.

She IS 80 years old, and like Slim says, spare parts are a little hard to come by - they had to steal an engine from the Hawaii Mars to get her airworthy enough to make it here. She is going to the excellent Pima Air And Space Museum in Tucson - closest water to there is the duck pond at Reid Park. I do recommend it to anyone coming thorough Tucson,, great museum.

And of course, the elephant in the room - how long ago were you a kid, Trailrider? :D 😆😋
