Warden Callaway Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Either the posters on FB are stupid or think we're stupid. I've seen a lot of questionable things but some things are down right wrong. Seen a video of a large, male lion fighting an African cape buffalo. The buffalo had upper teeth with fangs and was bighting the lion. Fangs on lower teeth too. Well, a cape buffalo is a bovine and bovine don't have upper teeth or fangs. Seen another, a picture of a bald eagle setting on its nest with two chicks setting in front. The chicks were black with distinctive white heads. The problem is, bald eagle chicks start out gray and turn black in their juvenile stage and don't get their white head and tell for some 4 to 5 years. Lots more goofy stuff they call hacks that prompt people doing stupid stuff like cutting off your tire valve stems so the law can't track you. 2 Quote
Dapper Dave Posted February 10 Posted February 10 What they call, "click bait", to try to get you to click on a link to "learn more". Like these ads that keep popping up, "If you were in the Navy and were exposed to AFFF, you may be entitled to damages", and then show a picture of a sailor so obviously drawn by AI that it's sad. Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 The only thing I get on fakebook for is the Marketplace. I swear that most of the people there are dumb as a box of hair. I see something I'm interested in, Message the seller, and don't hear back from them. Mostly for days, sometimes EVER. I can see that they've seen my reply, but they don't reply back. My thought is that if they have something listed that they want to sell, they'd get back to me. If they finally do, I'll ask where and when I can see the item, meaning I need a date, time, and address to meet them, and I get back something like, "I'm on the South side." I want to message back, "Well that's real helpful", but I figure that they'll be too stupid to figure out what I mean. There HAVE been a few positive experiences there. Just last week I got my daughter an entertainment center off there. The whole transaction took less that three hours from first seeing it to unloading it at her place. But mostly dumbasses. Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I don’t do FarceBook!! My sister is a screaming liberal who constantly posts her bovine excrement there. If I were to go there, I’d challenge her crap and spend too much time debunking her silly _ _ _ _!! Schoolmarm gets on there occasionally and fills me in on the most ridiculous stuff that Mom and my sister spew. It reminds me constantly that you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your relatives!! 2 Quote
Warden Callaway Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 I got on FB to try to communicate with my family that is scattered from frozen north to steaming Gulf. But neater son is on FB and one granddaughter blocked me. But I'm part of several groups, SASS, Colt SAA, Ruger Old Army, etc. 1 Quote
J-BAR #18287 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 We are using "What's App" to communicate with our granddaughter in Tasmania. Free, similar to regular texting on iPhone, messages encrypted. Check it out. I don't use Facebook either. 2 Quote

It has a great telephone feature that is so far, free. Also no FB here. 1 Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) Why do you read anything on Face Book.? I gave them up years ago after two week try, then I cut them free and never regretted it for a second. Edited February 11 by Forty Rod SASS 3935 1 Quote
watab kid Posted February 11 Posted February 11 im not on facebook , i have a couple friends that are and they send me enough links to confirm ive made the right choice , its mostly fools that would cut their valve stems off because they read it on facebook , but hey , it keeps the tire service in business i guess , im not going to do it but then a couple of my neighbors are cops they know how to find me , point being if you are on the internet and cant sort things out - get off Quote
Warden Callaway Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Seen that valve stem cutting too. Watch another "life hack" hack of how to take a parking boot off a wheel by smearing it with whipped cream, pour Coke over it, etc. Long list of stupid stuff. A guy made a video of a woman at a gas station filling a suitcase with gas. I asked her what she was doing. She replied, it was OK, it was a life hack. I watch a series of "just rolled in". A series of some of the things mechanics see. They run into a lot of stuff stupid people do their cars because they seen it on FB. Quote
bgavin Posted February 11 Posted February 11 When Facebook censored the President, I closed my personal and business FB accounts and walked away. Still gone. If I wanted tripe, I will go to the butcher shop. Quote
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 ya get to see lots of STUPID without huntin' for it Quote
Warden Callaway Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 And how about the idiots that make like wild animals are just gentle creatures. Many could really hurt you. To some you're just a food source. Even domestic animals, live stock, horses, donkeys, etc can be dangerous. Even without intending to could step on you or fall on you. They let toddlers walk up to farm animals and I cringe. It's impossible to predict what the animal may do. 1 Quote
