Factory in New Haven, Connecticut during WW2 Winchester was contracted to produce the M1 Garand in 1940 with the first completed rifle rolling off the production line on January 10, 1941. Alpo Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 M1 forgery? That would be the Japanese Type 4. During the end of the war the Japanese had many captured M1 rifles, and they attempted to reverse engineer it to make it work with 7.7 arasaka.
