MizPete Posted March 28 Posted March 28 We've never yet been able to attend the crap shoot. Petey's an accountant, so tax season..... He's STILL threatening to retire after this year so maybe......or you will read my name in the papers and Grandson #1 will be dragging the RV your way.
Duke Hunter Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I look forward to this match. Good shooting, fine food and great people ! Now I just need to collect a few more quarters from Copperhead Joe to help with my entry fee for Black Gold.
Blackwater 53393 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 20 hours ago, MizPete said: Noooooooo! Yes, Ma’am! I’m seeing an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon on Monday to see about having my ankle fused. Between losing a toe and several bones in that bad foot and the partial paralysis, my foot is tending to roll outward onto the remaining bone where the tendon attaches. This will cause more problems and would probably lead to losing more body parts that I don’t want to do without! I’m not sure how quickly I will or can get it done, but with a probable three month recovery time, I am wanting it done and over with! Barring complications, I SHOULD be good to go by July if they’ll go on and get it done! I’ll still see ya’ in a couple of weeks!!
MizPete Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Always looking forward to seeing you but, damn, Tommy! Have you discussed a prosthesis? Seems to me you've suffered enough with this.

Seems to me you've suffered enough with this. Yeah! We’ve talked about it. What’s still there is fairly viable. Some neuropathy and of course the paralysis, but my circulation is still very good and at this point, I’m not willing to start down that road. I can still get up in the morning and put both feet on the floor, walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth, get dressed and move around without having to attach something to my body or have someone else help me with the required assembly!! See ya’ at the match and I’ll explain further.
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 WELL!! I probably won’t get to stay for the match this time! The doctor changed the plan a little and it’s going to make it mostly impossible for me to get around. I’m out of the hospital and home, but they put me in splints for a couple of weeks until they can remove the stitches. I’ll be up on Thursday for a while. I’ve gotta meet Stoney to pick up a couple of things he brought back from EOT for me. The good news is, the doc upgraded my chances of a successful recovery and return to function to 75% this afternoon and seems pretty positive! More later!!

I’ll know more after another followup next week! I went in this afternoon for a bandage change and the doc had them put it in a light cast.. He wasn’t displeased…
Tn Tombstone Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Blackwater what the heck is "Wasn’t displeased?" That is almost a double negative. You take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing you in Kentucky even if it is just a day. On that subject…the weather is looking like it may be a good one. Yard Sale on Thursday with some guns on the table I am sure. Plenty of items everyone needs. Shoot-offs, both Man on Man and team events. Maybe a little foolishness, good music. What have I forgotten? Oh, I remember, there is also a two day 10 stage State shoot. Come see us once and you will become a regular at Pondarosa Pines
Hoss Lytle Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Just over a week away!!! Getting loaded and packed up already, looking forward to seeing some old friends. Not that they have been friends a long time just that they are old.
Tn Tombstone Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Hoss, it will be good to see you and Bad Ash again, not so much the old man but heck you cant win them all. As they say in the old west, you can pick your friends but you are stuck with family.

I’ll tell ya all about it when we see each other, but for now, he was happy enough with what it looked like that he postponed my followup for Friday, the 18th!!
Cat A Tonic Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 ANNOUNCEMENT- I have a cabin available for KY State. Contact me if you’re interested! Ponderosapinespossee@gmail.com
Blackwater 53393 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Heading up tomorrow morning for a short visit! Wish I could stay! WISH I COULD SHOOT!! Reckon I’ll have to be satisfied with seeing a few friends and picking up some stuff I bought from some of my Cowboy pards! Tomorrow is the two week mark since my most recent and probably most extensive foot surgery, so I’m gonna behave myself and not mess up all that work the doctor did! See ya’s around lunchtime!!
Tn Tombstone Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Folks are really rolling in now. It is great so see some old friends and am pretty sure I will be making a few new ones.
Captain Bill Burt Posted April 17 Posted April 17 If someone could post the posse lists that would be nice! I want to know who’s going to be laughing at me trying to shoot gunfighter.
Frontier Lone Rider Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I was really looking forward to shooting this Long-Range, but the Doc says there is no way I can drive 6 1/2 hours one way to shoot this weekend. It looks like you all will have fantastic weather, so have fun and shoot straight, Frontier Lone Rider

Uncle Ethan # 94321 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Fun stages and a great match. Cat, Joe and all those who put in their time and sweat did a great job.
MizPete Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Just a friendly warning: If TN Tombstone is your posse marshall & you are sitting there minding your own business and doing your job, you just MIGHT get hit with a snake. MY PM THREW A SNAKE AT ME. A word to the wise.
Tn Tombstone Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I did not throw that snake at you, I threw it as someone else but I’m a bad shot. Sorry.
Dred Bob Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Me and a buddy made the trip down from Ohio for our first shoot at the Ponderosa Pines. Not only did we have a great time shooting but we found some new family. The match(es) were challenging and fun and the hospitality was off the charts. Friendly faces, great music and great food. We're hooked and will try to be back for Black Gold and any other match we can fit into our calendar. If you haven't been here then you're missing out and not just on the shooting events. Thanks to everybody that welcomed us and made us feel at home. Copperhead Joe, Cat, MizPete, and all the others working hard to make it happen. Special thanks to Boots for making it possible.

That’s what happens when an old Outlaw fires a wild shot from the hip!! DANG!! Wish I’da been there to see that!! 🤣 Maybe we should make up a new side match!! Or better still!! Let Johnson come up with a new Cowboy ‘Lympics event!! 🤪!! SNAKE TOSSIN’!!!
MizPete Posted April 21 Posted April 21 1 hour ago, Blackwater 53393 said: new Cowboy ‘Lympics event!! 🤪!! SNAKE TOSSIN Tommy, we had grown men who wouldn't touch that snake (see Stage 2). There was an ugly little blue fuzzy thing provided as an alternative. No names. They know who they are. I don't remember who we were talking to Sat nite, but he sez: you were so cool - you didn't even flinch. Well, yeah I did just a little when that snake landed & I hadn't seen it coming.
