Eyesa Horg Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Dang, for some reason I never saw that one when I lived in that area. Did see the one up in Sturbridge though. It's a shame they are mostly gone now. My neighbor here has to cut several 4 foot plus white pines along the road. Nobody wants any part of them as no saw mills can cut them. It's looking like they will just be filled and left to rot. What a shame. I hope someone takes them to make chainsaw bears etc. Quote
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I recall there was one in SE NH but I didn’t find a reference on the web. 2 Quote
Cheatin Charlie Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I visited this a few years ago. Notice almost everything is made of wood on site. If memory is correct you could buy the metal parts back east with instructions on how to build the mill on site with hand tools. https://www.mackinacparks.com/attraction/historic-mill-creek/ 1 Quote

Hubs, axles and other metal parts were in the shipment but most of it was timber and powered either with steam, or later, with (most commonly) a Buffalo one cylinder, stationary Diesel engine. 1 Quote
