No, but sometimes fall asleep while streaming something and then a 20 minute commercial starts. I have a long "watch later" playlist. When I fall asleep, sometimes the commercials mess with my dreams.

Other than WiFi and cell service, I pay no providers for content or for commercial-free service. If Youtube would drop censorship*, I might consider ad-free service. As it is, I have no certainty much of the content I watch will be there in a year.

8I am OK with content curation (like on this forum, no vulgar content), but curation is far short of censorship.

Nope.  I can put up with a few seconds of commercial and hitting skip.

If it would take out the 2 to 3 minutes os infomercial while the creator talks about the sponsor I might think about it.

No reason to. With Google Chrome, there are several free apps to stop ads. These same apps stop ALL ads on ALL websites, including YouTube.

AdBlock

AdBlock Plus

Ads Killer

Easy Ad Blocker

Stands AdBlocker

Some websites will require you to turn them off to read their content, such as Fox News.

You can train youtube to not show you ads. As soon as an add starts close the window.

Their algorithm will stop showing you ads eventually since you are not a revenue source.

Conversely watching 20 minutes of ads teaches it to show you long ads.

Yes I do. YouTube is my go to tv channel and it’s a small price to pay for no commercials

Premium   ?

I do pay 13.99 a month for a membership on YouTube.

I don't have to watch advertising.

My wife and I cut cable a few years ago.

We got Amazon Prime and a Amazon fire stick .

We watch free TV.

We watch YouTube or Westerns on Pluto TV.

With a membership on YouTube you don't have to watch advertising so we watch a lot of YouTube.

Just about anything you want to watch is on YouTube.

It's definitely worth the 13.99 a month IMHO .

My reason for not using YouTube is it is owned by Google. I don’t like or trust Google. I also refuse to use Instagram, Facebook, Waze and pretty much most Android based applications.
I have found through DuckDuckGo (DDG) that I can watch YouTube clips on YouTube or I can use Duck Player.
I use an iPhone and I have removed all Google and Android apps from my phone.
I also refuse to use Tik Tok. I will not watch Tik Tok videos anywhere, any time, including on here.

It makes it weird as my entire family uses Google / Android everything. They all think I am weird. Well, I am weird, but I am also smarter, so :P to them.

Same here. I watch a lot of YouTube videos. The commercials became so intrusive that I pay to be rid of them.

Unlike broadcast TV, the programs aren’t designed for commercial interruptions. On YouTube, they cut somebody off mid-sentence. For example, an 18 minute Jay Leno’s Garage episode will be interrupted 3-4 times at random intervals.

Not only do I not pay for You Tube Premium, but You Tube is becoming increasingly annoying.  Too many garbage Vids about vehicles and motorcycles "New for 2025" created with CGI that have absolutely no basis in reality.  Annoying.

Yes that's what its called YouTube Premium, I watch a lot of YT and there's no way I could watch it with ads.

It also incudes YouTube Music which is so much better than Spotify.
