Grumpy Dutch Boudre Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I am new to CAS and have a Stoeger coach gun that I would like to use for Cowboy shoots. Was wondering if there were any gunsmiths in the South Georgia/North Florida area that work on these? Quote
Shepherd Book Posted February 2 Posted February 2 You might look under HOME, then at the SASS Wire F.A.Q. The first listing is cowboy gunsmiths by State. Hope this helps! SB 2 Quote

Dapper Dave Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I have one of the new synthetic ones and I think it is neat as all get out. What I did was get a mop, some Mothers' Mag Polish, a drill and rod and drilled out the chambers to slick up those machining marks until I shucked plastic hulls with no problem. I also went over all the bearing surfaces on the hinge/lock and till it dropped open nicely without help. I also polished up the extractor and pin for the same reason. 1 1 Quote

Charlie MacNeil, SASS #48580 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 If you're the least bit handy, Stoegers are pretty easy to work on. Unless you're looking for some pretty extensive modifications. Quote
