The Outlaw Travis James Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Shootout Corral Chronicle – January 2025 We welcomed 49 Outlaws from five states to the 8th Annual Shootout at the OK Corral hosted by the OK Corral Outlaws held at the OK Corral Gun Club in Okeechobee, Florida. The weather started out rather chilly, at least according to the Floridians. By the third stage, the sun had come out and folks were shedding gloves and dusters. We could not have asked for more beautiful weather to enjoy the match with friends. The posse sizes were perfect and well balanced, averaging around 31 minutes per stage. We finished the entire eight stage match on average in just over four hours of range time! This efficiency is a credit to our Posse Marshals, and we would like to thank them for helping us run a smooth match. Posse 1 Marshal – Amaduelist Deputy – Realtree Posse 2 Marshal – The Outlaw Travis James Deputy – Midwest Hale Posse 3 Marshal – Riverview Rattler Deputy – Shiloh Red A huge thanks go out to Audra and Stone Cold Sharon for all of their help! They were running around the range nonstop all day and helped set up the awards banquet. Without their efforts, the match would not have been so successful. We awarded Spirit of the Game Awards to one member of each posse. We asked the Posse Marshals who they felt exemplified the true Spirit of our Game yesterday. Thank you for your helpfulness and positive attitude; it's appreciated, even with some not shooting. Posse 1 – Keen Eye Kelly who drove all the way from Ohio to shoot his very first CAS match with us. Posse 2 – Mama Know’s Best Posse 3 – Lightning Bill Carson We raffled off several prizes donated by many sponsors. Free match entries, jams and jellies, and even primers, were all given away. Thank you to those who donated these gifts to our shooters. The winners were as follows: Rocky Creek Shooter - Free Match Entry to The Last Stand the 2025 SASS Florida State Championship provided by The Last Stand Committee & Roughshod Raiders courtesy of Delta Glen and Santa Fe River Stan. Belltown Bandit – Free Match Entry to the 2025 Shootout on the Santa Fe provided by the Fort White Cowboy Cavalry courtesy of Toothpick and Bucky Buckskin. Tin Can Sailor – Jam and Jelly gift basket courtesy of Mama Know’s Best which included a Free Match Entry to the 2025 Shootout in the Swamp hosted by the Southwest Florida Gunslingers. Arcadia Outlaw - Free Match Entry to the 2025 SASS North Carolina State Championship hosted by the North Carolina Cowboys Inc. courtesy of Brewman. Carolina Sunshine – 1000 Federal Primers courtesy of Polecat Joe. Brewman - $400 gift certificate for Hunter’s HD Gold. We would like to thank Audra for being kind enough to donate three cowboy themed prize packages that were raffled to our Dagnabbit shooters. To earn a Dagnabbit, a shooter can have only one miss for the match. Those three winners were Loxahatchee Dan, RK Carroll, and Ace Hanlon. I’m sure the memorabilia will look great hanging over their reloading benches. I have one scoring correction. I announced the Elder Statesman Category incorrectly. My apologies to Dead Aim Dave. The correct placement was: 1. Riverview Rattler 2. Wild Mike 3. Sheriff Mickey 4. Dead Aim Dave 5. Snuffy Smith We had eight clean shooting Outlaws this year: Bucky Buckskin, Captain Blaster, Charlie Reb, Jeremiah Longknife, Lightning Bill Carson, Preacherman, Realtree, & Riverview Rattler. Dagnabbits to Lake Pickett Lady, Polecat Joe, Ace Hanlon, Wild Mike, RK Carroll, Right Again Dad, Shiloh Red, Loxahatchee Dan, & Midwest Hale. Arcadia Outlaw, SASS 71385 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Midwest Hale and I had a great time! Polecat Joe, The Outlaw Travis James & Chickie Winsome did a great job with the match. Stages were fun , food was really good, nice awards (buckles) , all the details that go into a big match were covered. Folks should put this match on their radar if you’re in Florida in January.
