SO!! I guess we lost the thread with the copyright issue!

I’d like to have a list of those who filed complaints! I would do my level best to never deal with any of them again!!

Reckon we’d better watch what we post from other sources from now on!

Look at the notice from Misty again. She listed several liberal media organizations. You probably don't do business with them now.

Perhaps, but I WOULD like a comprehensive list!

There are a few gray areas to this. I won't go into them.

Misty is not under any obligation to publish the information. She is not necessarily prohibited from publishing it verbatim but this introduces other considerations. She is also not bound to secrecy.

As much as I would like to see the full notice myself, Misty has already made public sufficient information to explain the actions being taken.

Also I recognize SASS has no resources for any sort of a legal battle.

Wonder if we were singled out because we are mostly a conservative organization with open and staunch support of gun rights!!

Would all these same outfits treat some lame, liberal “safe space” forum the same??

Hate that our folks have to go through this.  They have to work too hard to avoid these pitfalls, especially something like this!!

Does seem odd when most of the posts were picked up off of other public sites. Seems once it goes on the Internet, everyone has access to it. So what's the big issue. We're not stealing it to make a profit or income if any sort.

Misty did the right thing. It's a shame SASS got fined instead of being warned first. Had we been warned, the issue would of been taken care of it without further ado.

I'm also not understanding this "fine" aspect. Sounds like a shakedown to me. But I do not know the details. DMCA was not supposed to have financial costs if complied with promptly. Give Misty time and space to talk to her lawyers.

Also, edit your post, You left out a "not."

We lost the Grumpy Old Farts With Guns thread, apparently because of stuff that was posted on it that infringed on some outfit’s copyrights.

Well, it would be helpful to know what sites, images, image types etc. have caused the issue so we can avoid posting anything from them.

I'm very sorry the issue surfaced and has affected SASS and Misty.

Something to consider…

Many forums require that if you post something from another website that you post a hyper link to the media (image, video, graphic, etc.) for people to click on to access the site OR you post a link showing where the image came from either above or below the image. This removes or mitigates the chances of copyright infringement issues.

I don't even have to go out of the house to get grumpy, the TV commercials alone are enough:angry:

It’s barely been a month and the damned Social Security advantage program ads are back on TV and the “green lipped mussels” commercials never stop!!!

Top that off with some politicians who are already announcing that they’re considering running for another office and you KNOW that it’ll never end!!!

😡 GRUMP ‘N’ BE DAMNED 😡

NOW!! GET OFF THE BROWN CRUSTY LAWN!!!

The drug commercials are pretty bad too! They have music and dancing and everyone is so happy because the drug worked (if you can get by the side effects) Grrrrrr:angry:

I lost a good friend last weekend, Territorial Governor Rooster Corrigan, AKA William Corrigan.

Rooster was also an important part of the organizing committee of The Square Circle Wranglers.

He produced match booklets' and did whatever was needed to ensure matches for The Square Circle Wranglers, Ruff's Regulators, The Grenville Cowboy Posse and the Cornwall Group ran smoothly.

He was often a guest at my place for St. Patrick Day when I served up Corn Beef and Cabbage, and sometimes for Easter, Christmas or New Years.

God Speed Rooster. I'm going to miss you!

GRUMPS FOREVER!

CLK;

I seems that the holes in the CAS Family, and in our hearts, keep getting Bigger...

And Sadly, even when new folk step-up to try and fill the gap, mostly they aren't of the same caliber..........

Sorry for the lost of another good one...

My condolences Pard...

Sad to hear that you lost a friend.  Always hard to fill these voids and fortunately, we have great memories to soften the grief.

This post marks my 47,832nd post on the SASS Wire forums! With this post, I surpass the total of Badger Mountain Charlie, a dear and, sadly departed, friend and a cornerstone of the Saloon!

He used to describe himself as a “blaberfingers” when speaking of his prolific entries here!

I proudly accept that label and will try to carry on in his friendly and humorous tradition!!

Charlie!!  Miss ya’, pard!

I had many more posts than what's shown but lost all passwords and had to start all over.   So somewhere out there I've got a dusty, musty unused double of me in SASS posts.  Kinda scary.

Old Blue could have fixed all this.

Maybe Misty can fix it?

Okay it’s bad enough to have people driving on your rear end but when you’re walking into a store and the people behind you are right on your heels that irks me! I stop and look back at them and let them walk around me! I don’t walk slow so there’s no reason for them to he on my heels!
Rant over, thanks 😊
