Rip Snorter Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) Got a photo with an X - no links, I guess, info online. Apparently made in Turkey. Edited January 22 by Rip Snorter Quote
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Looks like a Rossi to me with that bolt top safety. Why do new companies insist on calling themselves the same thing as long defunct ones and then not bother to recreate what their namesake was famous for? Looks like they are not doing a more traditionally designed one either. Quote
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Looks like they all had a muzzle cap Quote

There seems to be three variants of it. 50 minutes ago, The Original Lumpy Gritz said: Looks like they all had a muzzle cap Did SASS ever decide on the threaded cap? I thought they were reviewing it. It’s hard to even make out. Quote

Cpt Dan Blodgett, SASS #75655 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) No way the button mag wood models will hold more than 5 or so. They are in no way designed for cowboy action shooting. Might be decent hunting guns but the tacticool model is an answer to a non-existent question to para phase JC Edited January 23 by Cpt Dan Blodgett, SASS #75655 Quote
Reverend P. Babcock Chase Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Howdy Capt. Dan, I have to differ on the "tactical" lever version. It answers the question for a reliable way to send a bunch of lead in a hurry for those poor folks who live in a region (state or city) where semi autos are restricted. Or for some ill-informed gent who thinks they look mean.. To be clear, I hate those mongrel guns. Wouldn't own one. There are better choices. Frankly, a slicked up cowboy lever would be a better choice in the hands of an experienced cowboy shooter. Rev. Chase Quote
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Nothing special about them . They are just Rossi built 92's Manufactured by Taurus Who Owns Heritage Firearms. And I believe Heritage is going to become the Cowboy line of their firearm umbrella. Rooster 2 Quote
Houston CAS Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 Found another video of H&R talking in more detail about it. There will be lots of different configurations, including threaded and non-threaded. Quote
Abe E.S. Corpus SASS #87667 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 The video from SHOT said the wood stocked version is Turkish walnut which suggests these are not Rossi/Braztech/Heritage. There is another Turkish ‘92, perhaps with an aluminum receiver, that came out a year or so ago. Someone with a better memory might recall the brand. The first short intro video that PSA posted suggested there were no variants with a ten round magazine capacity. Lever action PCCs are gaining in popularity but manufacturers don’t necessarily consider what cowboy action shooters want. Quote
Abe E.S. Corpus SASS #87667 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 The other Turkish ‘92 is the G-Force Huckleberry. A SHOT Show video shows the barrel marking on the H&R rifle “Hugtek Arms Company Turkey”. Quote
