Doesn't happen very often down here (~30 miles North of the Gulf of Mexico).

Started snowing, light and fluffy, about 0600 this morning (21JAN2025).

Yep, the global warming situation caused by the Tonga undersea volcano eruption in ‘22 must have subsided.
But don’t worry, the Axial Seamount volcano off the coast of Oregon is set to erupt this year. I sure hope that doesn’t trigger the Columbia Subduction Zone to come apart and submerge Oregon and Washington.

It has always been a wonderment  to me that with all the stories about world-wide flooding over the last few years there is not a mention of the Hunga Tonga volcano in all the articles that  I have seen and read about the flooding .

According to NOAA , it ejected  fifteen percent more moisture into the atmosphere than was currently being stored there.

And folks wonder why we have floods everywhere.

Must be Climate Change .................LOL !

It's all what you're used to.

I genuinely feel for those fine folks south of the Mason-Dixon who are getting genuine winter weather through no fault of their own!

Mama Nature is playing nasty with them!

I'm not about to complain about living in what my in-laws are convinced is the Frozen Arctic Tundra, we knew it got cold in winter so bein' here is our own fault!

We are of the opinion that there is no such thing as cold weather outside------it's merely inadequate clothing !

-4 here in northern Indiana. Had a light snow overnight. Not too bad if you stay out of the wind.

21 below this morning.  Having that much snow in Wisconsin doesn't even rate in the nuisance category. Move along people.  Nothing to see here.

We had a blizzard here in Round Rock, TX last night. They even closed the schools last Friday in anticipation of the great blizzard. Now we are afraid of running out of food and toilet paper and are rationing ourselves. Oh well, if we can hold out until tomorrow we should be ok.

I even had to pull my 5th wheel home to plug it in so I could turn the heater on. I didn't winterize it this year since we are headed to EOT middle of next month. Should be able to take it back to the storage lot Thursday evening since the freezing weather is suppose to clear out by then.

Hoping to hit the outdoor range and shoot my new (to me) S&W model 66. :D

Update: it's still snowing.

Understand, I am not complaining.  It's just another day for me and I'm enjoying the view - from inside the house or on the porch.

This is the first time I can remember having any measurable snow, especially this close to the coast.  I remember several ice storms growing up, but never snow that would stick for any amount of time.

We were in the camper this past weekend so we didn't winterize either.  I've got the cabinet doors open, the hot water heater on and a small space heater running.

You are all imagining it! Don't forget global warming. (Denver had windchill of -20F this AM and still snow on the ground, although not much.)

Oh, and for those blaming global warming on human activity, have you checked the sun's peaking activity lately?

Let's not put out facts that can be checked instead of feelings, opinions and theories.

Here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, we have lost most of our snow and the temperature today is just around the freezing mark.

Looks like you folk South of us are getting what we normally get, snow wise. Just a little warmer than we usually enjoy.

My NG bill is lower than usual and the furnace doesn't come on as often.

Been about 24°F all day today.  Low tonight is forecast to be 11°F.  Most all places closed again tomorrow.

Great gun, I carried the 19, 65, 66 and finally ended up with the 67 while working with the PD. They were all great guns. Even carried the 36 as my backup.

I have heard that you can also pour some RV winterizer fluid down the drains and let it sit to keep the pipes safer. Then just flush it out with water after the cold spell and it just sits in the tank which isn't a problem.

Yeah, had I had the forethought to have RV antifreeze.  WalMart is not open even if I wanted to drive there.

There are two types of RV anti-freeze. The cheap kind if put into your holding tank leaves a terrible aftertaste that is hard to get rid of. The expensive kind still leaves an aftertaste but is easier to rinse out.

Here is how I winterize my RV.

Drain my fresh water holding tank and then run the pump until it is only sucking air. Then I use an adapter that lets me connect my air compressor to the city water connection and blow out the lines saving the low point drains for last.  If the line to the fresh water holding tank is not the gravity style without a check valve I also blow that lone out as well. Remove the anode from the water heater to drain any sediment and the last of the water from it. Be sure to replace the anode when done.

Now I drain the holding tanks.

Be sure to close all low point drain valves including the fresh water tank to keep the critters out.

Lastly I take a gallon or if necessary 2 gallons of the cheap RV antifreeze and pour a quart into every sink, shower, tub drain. Pour at least a quart into the black holding tank via the toilet.

Haven't had an issue in over 6 years using this method.

Pouring it in the drain only helps the drains and tank, the plumbing still has water as well as the water heater.

I have a 36 as well. It’s a cool snubbie. Between my 36, 442 and Colt Detective my 36 is most accurate in my hands.

OK , i wouldnt even think of grabbing a shovel for that skiff of snow ,

BUT i get your concern for the unwinterized 5th wheel , heat good , cold would be a real mess and expensive fix ,

It’s -4 here right now going up to 12 but tomorrow is going to 24 and then 30’s for the next week and no snow predicted. We’ve got 3-4” which is nothing for NE OHIO

You folks down south be careful I know your cities have hardly any or no snow removal equipment so drive careful or just don’t go out!
57 days till spring😎🤠
