Scarlett Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Howdy! This is an unusual post. I have been granted permission by the Moderators to ask this on this forum. As many of you know, Tommy (my husband) is virtually blind. His sight has deteriorated recently and is not going to get better. He used to be able to see prices/description etc but now that is not the case. It is difficult for him to be in our vendor tent by himself at matches. I know I have the best Cowboy & Cowgirl friends in the world! I also I know you would do whatever you could to help out, this is the World Championships - you need to focus on your match. Besides, this is a PAID POSITION. I need an “employee” not a favor. 🥰 The EOT committee, namely @Rattlesnake Slim and @Sly Puppy are being understanding are trying to help me find someone. However, it’s not their responsibility and, while the Rangers are fabulous and so VERY helpful, they have their own duties and it’s not right to expect them to help me in my vendor tent. Do you have a college aged kid or grandchild that may be in the area who’d be willing to help with: DUTIES: Lifting boxes as heavy as 50 lbs Helping when customer needs help with orders Help Tommy with replenishing inventory and, other things that may arise as needed. Haul cardboard off & help keep tent tidy WHEN: Setup Sunday February 23, 10am ? - 4pm? Monday - Tuesday while I’m shooting WB - at least half day (4+ hours) each day Wednesday - if needed. I’m in tent all day Thursday - Friday at least half day (5 hours) depending on shooting schedule. I will be shooting the main match. Saturday - possibly. help organize for pack up on Sunday. BENEFITS! There are plenty! 🥰 Pay at least $12-15hr. Tommy and I are generous. We will feed the person - food vendors on range. Opportunity to meet and engage with the FINEST people in the shooting sports - Cowboys and Cowgirls. And, a couple of Bullets By Scarlett T shirts to wear when helping and keep. I appreciate your thoughts. This is our situation and we will work it out. It’s time for us to adapt… I am committed to my business and not going anywhere… we are adapting. 😊 Please EMAIL me at bulletsbyscarlett@gmail.com. If you’d like to discuss further. Thank you very much! Hugs! Scarlett & Tommy 7 Quote
Rip Snorter Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Tough stuff, so sorry. Been long enough that I can't recall brand or what it was called, but when Mom was going blind, I was able to get a hand held device that would let her read meds labels and other things within reason. Wouldn't solve this issue. but would make other parts of his life easier. There are eye Docs who specialize, and I'm sure the tech has advanced. God bless! 1 Quote

Age related (dry) Macular degeneration. He’s had wonderful care from the SC Commission for the Blind. Hugs! Scarlett 2 1 Quote
Dogmeat Dad, SASS #48563L Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Scarlett & Tommy, So sorry to hear of Tommy's deteriorating eyesight, I had thought things had stabilized for him, but apparently not. I am glad to hear that he is getting good care in SC. Finding good care can be really difficult. If I was even close to the area, I would be more than happy to help out. I hope (and expect) that you will get some helpers. After EOT, give me a shout. Holli and I will be at FL State and SC State and maybe can pitch in a bit there. Dogmeat 1 1 Quote
Turquoise Bill, SASS #39118 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Scarlett, I can give you some time on Thursday, depending on my shooting schedule. I see you on Tuesday at some point and we can discuss. TB 1 Quote

John Kloehr Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Best wishes to you and your husband. I can't even attend so I am no direct help. I do want to give a shoutout to forum management for allowing your request. I heartily support their decision. 2 1 Quote
Scarlett Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 Thanks everyone!! I’ve got some help lined up! I appreciate your good wishes and thought very much! @Dogmeat Dad, SASS #48563L, I appreciate your message! It’s not as big an issue at a state match. The biggies are the hard ones! 🥰 Hugs! SHOOTIN FOX Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Just a thought. Ask the Rangers about getting some boyscouts to help with what they can. If you need more help, let me know. I will be available based on shooting schedule. HUGS, FOX Edited January 23 by SHOOTIN FOX Quote
Waimea Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Give Tommy my best. He's a good man. If I was there I would have helped him sling some lead. Best wishes, Scarlett. From the Waimea's 1 Quote
