T-Square suggested we have a thread on which Magnificent 7 matches folks are going to shoot, so here it is.

I plan to shoot Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky,  Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.  I hope to sneak in Mississippi as well, depends on my work schedule.

Well, when I saw the title of this thread, I had no idea what it was about.   When I saw M7, the first thing that popped into my head was the bayonet for the M-16.   :)

Then I read the thread and saw it was about certain bit matches down in the heart of Dixie.

But I am wondering, how did the seven matches listed come to be referred to as "The Magnificent Seven?"

I would have to go back three years on the forum to see who recommended the name. It wasn’t me, but I liked it and decided to use it for the competition. I hope you can join us at some point.

.........Because Captain Bill Burt's Cowboy Extravaganza and Marathon Shooting Event in Seven States - was too long, and hard to repeat quickly.

Maybe I'll be able to finagle my way to one of them.   At least 3, I don't think I can get enough time off work.

Would love to do all seven, but man, that would mean loading up a lot of ammo!   Maybe when I am retired...

Was gonna compete in 4 of them, but didn’t realize that Ky state was Easter weekend, so gonna have to miss my own state match. Plan on now shooting Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.
