Dantankerous Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) Their music is fun. Any time in the 80s or 90s when I was in a nightclub and the DJ put on YMCA the place turned into a huge dancing party. Without fail every single time. Didn't matter if it was a cowboy bar or not. And this was in the midwest. Not even close to San Francisco. 😄 Edited January 20 by Dantankerous 1 3 Quote

Some of the 'lefts' biggest mouths got on TV to disparage their performing for Trump. But I didn't hear anyone from the 'right' saying anything negative. As a super right winger, I was glad to see them perform and enjoyed the song once again. ..........Widder 4 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Before we dislocate our shoulders patting ourselves on the back, let's remember Dixie Chicks, Target stores, NFL, and a raft of others disparaged and "canceled" by conservatives because of support for liberals and their causes. I seem to recall that for many that included The Village People because they are so gay. Until Trump let it be known that he likes them. Quote

The Dixie Chicks put down President Bush when they were out of the country and dropped the “Dixie” because it’s racist🙄. Target displayed gay and trans children’s clothing and the NFL started kneeling for the Anthem! Conservatives had nothing against the Village People and they only had one gay in the group and besides that was in the 80’s, conservatives have nothing against gays today in fact there’s plenty of gay conservatives! The Treasury secretary nominated by Trump is Scott Bessent a gay man married to a gay man with two children. No conservatives are making a big deal about him at all. Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Trump used their music without permission and they asked him to stop. Then he won the election. Perhaps he’s paying them now. 2 Quote

Which one is the only one? Or would that be which one WAS the only one, since there's only one of the original ones left. Quote

Trump was paying the fine to use the song without their permission. They cut a deal and this proves that money talks and bull%$#@ walks! 1 Quote

(I thought there was an Asian but I guess not. I've said this before, and I'll probably say it again: As a young Marine I learned that if a man can and will do what needs to be done, his race, religion, national origin or sexual orientation don't matter. If he can't or won't do what needs to be done, his race, religion, national origin or sexual orientation don't matter. Edited January 21 by Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 3 1 Quote
