A former senior energy industry executive was found dead following a suspected suicide, Russia's state media reported, in the latest mysterious death of one of the country's elite.

Mikhail Rogachev, 64, who was the former vice president of the disbanded energy firm Yukos, died after falling from a window, the TASS and RIA Novosti news agencies reported at the weekend.

A law enforcement source told Tass that Rogachev's body was found in Protopovsky Lane in the Russian capital and that "the main version of his death is suicide. The man suffered from cancer."

Coroner likely reported the result he was told to report.

Well, it's not like bullet holes or being bound and gagged, or even a forcible entry of the residence door prior to a fatal plunge would have changed the outcome in any way, dead is still dead. Russia is still Russia. And going against the powers-that-be is clearly a suicidal act. So there you go, or, well, there he went.

Not saying any of those things happened, just saying.

Likely before he hit the pavement.

Depends on how high the window was. If it was a couple or 3-4 stories he probably lived until he splattered! If it was a 9-10 stories he probably had a heart attack on the way down.

I'm not a doctor but I watched Marcus Welby and I was a big fan of Doc Adams on Gunsmoke!

…or he was already dead when he “ jumped”out the window.
