a young robert redford was the death guy , taking the old lay from this life to the next [if one believes there is another] interesting premise , im still thinking on it for now , 

 
the other character was the demo contractor guy that was to take the building down , his attitude was that he was simply preparing the site for the new that was coming , 
 
i guess thats what we are to think , as we get old we need to make room for the young ......im still thinking on it ,

I don't think he was seeking information on who the actor was. I think he was verifying that was the term being used.

I also wondered about that. And I also decided that that was a typo and was supposed to be lady. I presume the Marshal was just double checking.

My brain just processed it as "lady" because I'm familiar with the episode. "Twilight Zone" and "Robert Redford" conjured up images from it in my head.
