Alpo Posted January 14 Posted January 14 A limousine with the drivers area open, exposed to the elements. I was trying to find some pictures of a car like this, and I described it every way I could think of and I just got standard limousines. And then that one popped up. So how would you describe it if you were trying to do an image search? 2 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) 1668 Eight All Weather Brougham by Rollston https://www.classicandcollectorcars.com/vehicles/3320/1938-packard-rollston-eight-1668-all-weather-panel-brougham If I couldn't use Google Lens I'd call it an open driver limousine. Or 1930s exposed driver limousine. Edited January 14 by Subdeacon Joe 3 Quote
Alpo Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 I finally did a search on Addams family limousine, and it said that was a 1930 Duesenberg. So I did a search on 1930 Duesenberg limousine and I found some pictures of this open cab thing. I was originally wondering if they only used something like that when the weather said it wouldn't rain? 'Cause not only does it seem like it would annoy the chauffeur to be driving down the road in the pouring rain while the rich folks is sitting back there undercover, but it's soaking the upholstery. I wonder if the people that have a limo like that also have one with an enclosed driving area, for rain or snow? 1 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted January 14 Posted January 14 From the link: looks like you could configure it for bad weather. 2 2 Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 They usually had a removable roof section, and almost all had roll up windows. Any of them in really fine shape today will sell for something in the neighborhood of a Doctor's Degree at Yale or Harvard or some other high dollar colleges around the world. 2 1 Quote
