Was thinking about "loose change", and I remembered this

Mary Tyler Moore show episode. Someone is talking about a great stock investment, and Ted wants in on it. So he opens his wallet and pulls out three $500 bills to buy in.

Mary, watching this, turns to Murray and asks why Ted would carry $500 bills.

Murray says, "This is why. Hey Ted. You got that $10 you owe me?"

And Ted says, "Sorry Mur. All I have are 500s. You have change?"

At the end of the show, in the little kicker right before the ending credits, Murray again asks if Ted has the $10, and again Ted says that all he has is 500s, and did Murray have change.

And Murray says, "Yes I do. I went by the bank during lunch."

And he reaches down in his desk drawer and comes up with a big sack and sets it on the desk with a clank. Opens the sack and starts counting out nickels. "5, 10, 15, 20, 25 ..."

Back after my current manager graduated high school he had route servicing vending machines.

Never worried about being robbed as you cn't run far with a sack of change.

One day he got caught in a speed trap. Cop made him go to the court house to see the judge and pay his fine.  Judge fined him $98.00. So my manager went out to the truck and using the coin counter in the truck filled two sacks with $49.00 of pennies. He went back in and dropped about 26 1/2 pounds of pennies on the clerks desk. Clerk had a fit and was going to refuse them. Judge heard the commotion and came into the clerks office to see what was going on.  After a discussion the judge told the clerk she had to accept them. Clerk had another fit when my manager told he he had to have the sacks back.

He left with the sacks.
