John Kloehr Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) Will be interesting to see the bill text when it is published. There is already a prior bill in the House to do this. Might be a reintroduction of H.R.374 - Abolish the ATF Act as introduced last year by Gaetz: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/374/text Full bill text was: A BILL To abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the “Abolish the ATF Act”. SEC. 2. ABOLISHMENT OF THE BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is hereby abolished. " Edited January 10 by John Kloehr Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) I think that perhaps we should retool the BATFE to be a tool FOR the support and development of the firearms industry and shooting sports!! The firearms division should spend time and effort to assist the industry in preventing illegal sales and acquisition of weapons! The alcohol, tobacco and explosives divisions should be used as intended!! Enforcement of the rules and laws should be turned over to local law enforcement with absolute strict limits on how and what they’re allowed to do. Edited January 11 by Blackwater 53393 2 1 Quote
