Up and Moved

Recommended Posts

Howdy folks.  It's been a while.

We up and moved to McCall, ID.  It's a lovely little mountain town, and a dream I've been chasing over 40 years.  We got a little place on an acre.  Here's a pic of something I've been waiting a lifetime for.  And shot from inside our house out the back window.  Hope everyone is well.

Good for you Doc! :)

I’m happy to hear you’re doing well. I’m also happy to hear of your escape. ;)

Good for you.  You don't know how good it feels to escape until you do it.  You'll find that dealing with that "white stuff" can be taxing after a while but it will all be gone in a few months.  Everything will turn green and beautiful.

Congratulations Doc. Looks like you're doing great. I'm still kicking. 10 years retired. 4 grandkids with a 5th on the way in July. We find out if it's a boy or girl in the next couple of days. They're all within 30 minutes of us. Enjoy yourself!

Except for all that white stuff on  the ground.  BRRRRRRR!

Other than that it looks great.

When I left for work this morning it was 7 degrees. Snow tomorrow then really cold next week.

Thermometer outside said 0 degrees this morning, local airport was reporting 6.  It was a bit chilly.  I needed to wear a hat :D

Honestly, I need the exercise and don't mind dealing with the white stuff.  Will have to do it again Saturday.  After I get home from skiing!

looks great , im wanting to move but away from the snow , cold and taxes here ,

I hope you can find the right place.  We wanted colder and snow.  As my wife and I get older, our tolerance for heat is going down, and we're doing better with the cold.  And we like skiing, a lot.

sounds like you both enjoy it and are in the right place , my wifes idaho rellies have asked us to move there , but im really looking for more warmth ,

part of my problem is we have a nice place hhere and even though its accrued in value a lot id be disappointed at what we would have to pay when we move to have less , but like all things in life i guess we shall see

I moved from Communisticut to Vermont almost 20 years ago. Love the people and the very rural scenery, but the taxes here are starting to be unbearable, over a thousand a month now compared under a thousand a year when I moved here. All education taxes for kids that can't count change or tell time but know all about changing their gender or having litter boxes in the locker room. Still better than Connecticut I guess.

Yup, likely less than a 2 hour drive.  We're here FOR the white stuff!

But how many SASS clubs are around for you to participate in?

TM

There's one about 30 minutes South.  Will check it out in the late Spring.
