watab kid Posted January 5 Posted January 5 so many fine guns out there - tarrus made them , berretta made them , ya just have to find something that makes you happy and shoot them , i started out with a tarrus and an uberti , i still have my tarrus , it was my first centerfire SAA , that was 2005 , ive owned a lot of them at this point in my life , more than i want to recall , a lot of cash in and out and lost , but i dont regret any really , i had a 4 3/4" ruger that stood up the whole match , it convinced me they were built like tanks to talker the punishment we give them , the tool of our trade so to speak , i remember the shoot when i decided to put all that aside , it was rough riders roundup no 1 , i had guns going down on every stage , when i got home after that match i went straight to my gun guy and told him to order me two new 5 1/2" rugers then change the grips to match my shorter model - first matched set i ever owned , i still shoot them today , i have backups but have never needed them since , i still bring them in case but as neglected as my rugers are they always work great
Dapper Dave Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Quick question - what failed on your Italian guns the most?
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I broke a hand spring one time in all my years of shooting I have Zero complaints on my Uberti and Pietta guns . Great guns for what we pay for them . And I'm sure us shooting SASS are putting more rounds threw our guns in One year then most single action guns fire in a life time ! IMHO . The Pietta GWll is the best built Colt style gun in the game today .
watab kid Posted January 7 Posted January 7 i locked mine up with crud , not really the guns fault , oh and high primers once as well , biut those locked up my others too , again not the guns fault ; proper cleaning anbd careful reloading has eliminated these things for me , and i knew better with the cleaning , i learned about the priming i fif have a couple with hand issues and one with a broken firing pin , these are the issues that caused me to buy rugers , i have owned a lot of them over the years

BenW Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I have a brace of GW II's, excellent out of the box IMHO. They've worked perfectly for me so far! Of course, I don't have thousands of rounds through them yet.
