Warden Callaway Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Jim Verney made his start doing commercials.

Warden Callaway Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 He made some popular movies too. Good singer.

watab kid Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 i quit watching commercials with any sense of interest after joe nameth did the panty hose thing - yes i saw them , yes i registered what they were selling , but that never made me buy anything , i liked looking at the girls , some of the new car designs were interesting , most of the food when you got it looked nothing like the commercials , being misled is not in my nature an acceptable thing , ive even found the super bowl commercials to be unworthy of watching - so i dont watch , why waste my time on something i wont buy anyway ? no matter how innovative they might be , besides too much went woke [whatever the hell that was] and became nothing more than pushing gay crap down our throats' , i dont want to see it or think about it so i wont watch it , im to the point of saying stuff it and go back in the closet - get out of my face , but , i recall the chevrolet commercials fondly about seeing the USA , im intending to do that the rest of my life .......some of it in my chev suburban
Warden Callaway Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 We watch YouTube and TUBI a lot. It's free. But the commercials are stupid and annoying beyond compair. Sometimes I can't even figure out what they're promoting. I don't know who they are targeting but they miss me completely.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 My most remembered commercials are spicy meatball, herding cats, and Clydesdales kneel for the twin towers.

It drives me crazy when the people who put the subtitles on these things don't have a clue what they are saying. "Leak one night"? Hell, that doesn't even make sense in any language, and about half of the songs with lyrics are botched up that way. BTW, that is one of my favorite novelty songs".

People didn't do the subtitles AI did. 😉

I have been working with computers of one sort of another for 59 years and have yet to see one that is infallible. They may be faster than I am and have more information stored in their digital so-called brains but in the long run they have no common sense, no experience, no true reflexes, and no personality. And in most everyday situations they are not as smart as you and I are.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 What AI is lacking is the same thing many people lack, common sense.
Jackson Haller Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 This one made me laugh out loud when I first saw it!

One of the original ingredients in Anacin (Phenacetin) was banned by the FDA in 1983 because it was found to be a known carcinogen along with other lethal side effects including kidney failure. The Anacin sold today only contains aspirin and caffeine. Good news is that phenacetin has been replaced by Acetaminophen. The closest OTC pain reliever to the original Anacin is Excedrin as it contains aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine. It is my go to pain reliever. Thanks for that. I wondered about what became of the Anacin brand. Excedrin and Anacin were big competitors.
