Whoa! 23 here but wind chill makes it feel like 8🥶

What's the opposite of "wind chill", maybe "heat stroke"?

So............how do you keep them frozen if you don't ice them?

i put them in the freezer , when we dont eat them fresh , im a soft water fisherman , i like to cast and move the boat about , its difficult this tome of year to do either ,

perching over an 8" hole on the ice hoping a fish comes along is like deer hunting to me - ill do it if we are hungry and need food but its not entertainment to me

I'm supposed to drive down to Texas next week and the news here is projecting 12"+ snow Arkansas to Texas this weekend.  I've no idea what the weather is supposed to be like there next week.  Even if I can get there, I may not be able to get back.  This trip may be a no-go.

Depending on where you lived, NE Texas got between 1 and 6 inches.

By noon today it has already melted off even the side roads. Day time temps in the high 40s to low 50's forecast for the rest of the week.  You'll be fine.

It’s likely to be here for several days! Between five and six inches on the ground and temperatures in the teens at night. Only mid thirties in daytime the next few days and then only for a couple of hours.

Still not a real problem!

Thanks.  That does ease my mind a bit.  I've got to get to Lindale, TX.

Fresh snow again in east Tennessee. It is starting to stick. Storm warning until 4 AM, extreme cold warning (15 degrees, wind chill to -20) until 2 PM tomorrow.

Basically will not be above freezing until Thursday.

I feel like I'm going to have a temperature tantrum!

You're so right. I can deal with the cold, but the wind is just brutal.

Mention of butter pecan and vanilla with chocolate syrup and suchlike ... now I want me some ice cream ...

... years ago (and I mean YEARS ago!)  I read that Alaskans ate more ice cream per capita than anyone else.

No idea if that's still true or not, but with this chilly season, I find myself very inclined to ice cream!

You'll get more when it warms up...:P

Down here in central Maryland, we got about 2" of snow, but it was heavy and wet.  I spent about 4 hours shoveling and clearing cars last night as the temps were plummeting, knowing it would be solid ice this morning.  Glad I did because I suspect some of my neighbors may not get their cars moving again for the rest of the week.

County dumped about two oceans worth of rock salt on the roadways and the traffic cams are showing that all of the major roads are clear and our street is quite passable.  Still had a few inches of snow on the ground from the last two storms, which is kind of unusual for us.  Typically, we get 4-6" of snow, then it warms up and is all gone in a few days.  Occasionally, we will get a 30"+ Snowmagedgon, but those only hit every 5 years or so.

Going to be a cold week ahead for most of the country.  We may finally break freezing on Friday.
