Warden Callaway Posted January 2 Posted January 2 (edited) Lot of predictions of very heavy snowfall from Missouri to Ohio. Snow above I70 up to 23 inches predicted. Freezing rain and winter mix each side of Missouri River. Rain in southern Missouri and Arkansas. We stocked up today to weather the storm. Blade put on loader. Scoop shovel brought in. We heat with wood and have a cord stored just on porch. Not our first rodeo. Edited January 12 by Warden Callaway 6 Quote
Texas Joker Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Yea gotta start the tractor and park it on top of the hill and make sure it's ready to go. Bring some wood in and put some extra bedding in the chicken coops. 1 Quote
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Batten the hatches and tie down everything that ain't welded to the bulkhead. Bring on the snow. The ATV is gassed up, and knobby tires will take me anywhere. ..........Widder 2 Quote

Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 WINTER STORM ALERT!! It's only supposed to get up to 67 here on Sunday. There's a REASON I left Ohio for Arizona. It'll be hot come Summer, but I don't have to shovel sunshine. 3 Quote

I’m perfectly happy here in Ohio, winters are not all that bad and besides I’ve got a plow guy !😂 2 1 Quote

When I was deployed to Yuma, I decided that Arizona is where I wanted to be. Yeah, it gets HOT here, but after 35 years, i've learned to deal with it. 1 Quote

Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Weather guessers are going nuts here in KC area, gonna be snowmageddon. Usually it ends up being ice and an inch of snow. Great entertainment value on the local news channels. Just the same, I fired up the snow thrower today in case I’m wrong. 😊 Regardless, I’d rather have a big dump of snow than ice. watab kid Posted January 3 Posted January 3 be interesting to see what you get after these dire predictions , we had such a prediction here a couple weeks ago , were supposed to get a lot and got an inch in reality , the wind blew as predicted and it got cold , but the armageddon snow fall never happened 1 Quote

Barry Sloe Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I think that if I lived back in that area I would invest in a generator. Probably wouldn't get used much, but when needed would be priceless. BS 1 Quote

If it does it’s always localized and I’ll head to a hotel, 1 Quote

Warden Callaway Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 Now we wait. The weather guessers modify their forecast every time I check. Now the warning area is broadened a little further south. Runs from west Kansas to the Appalachian mountain range. Our area says 5-8" of snow and 1/4" of ice. Quote
