Chief Rick Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Anyone use one of these on a regular basis? At the ranges I usually camp at cell signal is there, but very week. Ay our primary range, I set my cell phone outside the camper and stream TV on the smart TV using the hotspot with minimal lag. If I bring the phone inside the camper, I get substantial lagging. I'm specifically looking at either the Drive Reach OTR or the Drive Reach RV II. Quote
Pat Riot Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 The “Drive Reach OTR” looks like the one I see on lots of vehicles around here. I asked a couple of guys how they worked for them and they said they were “Okay, but some signal is needed for them to work”. One gent said he uses his on the road and on the east coast he rarely has issues. Out west is another story. He also said it depended on the carrier. He used AT&T but was considering switching to T-Mobile. I am assuming he was concerned about 5G availability. Quote
Chief Rick Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Yeah, you have to have "some" signal for it work but I don't know how much. It's not exactly inexpensive and we would only be using once or twice a month on average. Still, this is less expensive than Starlink for my purposes. Quote
