Lawdog Dago Dom Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Just like APP, lead/antimony is going up in 2025. Just got off the phone with a nice guy at Missouri Bullet Company. He said the antimony (sourced from China) has increased 30% over the last year. So far they have absorbed that increase, but cannot anymore. He added that to get domestic antimony sources up and running again would take about 2 years to see a price change in the market. Just FYI 4 1 Quote
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Yup. At be the way of it in a Global Economy. Quote
Dusty Devil Dale Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Even after American Antimony production is restored, don't count on prices ever coming back down measurably. Look at the propellant and primer examples. 1 Quote
Cypress Sun Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Actually, China and Russia have both banned the sale of antimony (and various other ores, minerals, chemicals and other essential items) for sale to American /US companies. Stock up now folks, could be a long ride. 1 1 Quote
Pat Riot Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Everyone I talk to seems to have no idea about the Nitrocellulose issues then when I mention lead and other metals also being impacted by China I get blank stares and dumb questions, like; - How did this happen? - Are you kidding me? You’re messing with me right? Then the conversation usually degrades into politics and so on. People don’t want to hear the truth and when you tell them the truth all of a sudden you are the bad guy. I no longer bother trying to educate the people I encounter at gun stores and the range. I keep thinking of Jack Nicholson in these conversations. You want answers?…You can’t handle the truth! 6 1 Quote
Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Pretty scary, all the strategic material and finished products we need are now manufactured solely offshore by our potential enemies. But I'm sure nothing will ever go wrong and things go off the rails. 1 1 Quote

Same here, why bother? And it isn't just nitrocellulose that they have banned sale to the US. The bad guy statement reminds me of the scene from Scarface. I'd post it, but some bad language prevents me from doing so. I always tell the truth...even when I lie.... 2 Quote
Jack Spade Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 It is frightening the number of people who have no idea what is going on in the world, how one thing effects another and what the consequences are. They are too self absorbed in their own little worlds they never look up and see what is going on in the bigger picture. Even if they are semi awake and see some of this most are not intelligent enough to follow it through to see what the end result is going to be. Once you realize nothing is as it seems, everything is a lie and we are in the battle of good vs evil then it can begin to make sense. The ones who perpetrate these consequences are relying on people not understanding what is going on. 4 1 Quote
