New TV and IPad

i got a 50” Vizio and a IPad that I’m still getting used to. I also got WIFI. I guess I entered the 21st Century. I had a 37” big difference, I’m loving this especially this IPad. 🤠

Now, I predict it won’t be long until your are streaming all you TV shows and movies to get away from commercials and sensationalized everything. 

 

I am assuming that you also use an iPhone if you have an iPad. Did you do everything on your iPhone before the iPad? 
I ask because I considered getting an iPad, but I am not sure I would use it enough to justify the cost.

Yes I’m on my IPad right now, it’s great, it’s way better than the phone, 

It’s basically like a big version of my phone. BTW I also have a desk top IMac.

I think this IPad was only $300.00. It’s a 10 generation.

I upgraded my tv a few months ago because the older one was losing horizontal lines. I do much of my online stuff on iPads. Cannot imagine doing them on a phone. Do the rest on pcs.

I just assumed iPads were really expensive. I wasn’t aware there were different generations or levels.

Hey Pat,

 

Yepper!!  The foregoing is correct.  Although iPad can get expensive.  However, once you move from what you do on a Phone, the iPad will seem magical!!  I personally like the full size iPad Air.  Tain't cheap, but it is some NICE!!  Super nice not having to stare at that tiny little screen You Betcha!!

HEY RYE!!

 

WHEN I "up graded" my TV, I went for and LG 72" Smart TV.  Bigger is Better.  If/When it starts to go bad, I'm gonna opt for a 98" you betcha!!

I sit about 5/6 ft away from the TV so 50” is plenty! I’d have to sit in the next room with a 72”😂😂

If you have grands kids and need tech support....Go to them.....Faster than waiting on the phone for someone...

I have an iPad 2. It is still running. It even gets upgraded automatically. I believe the battery life is beginning to run out as it discharges faster than it used to. I try to keep the # of apps that are running in the background down. That helps with battery service. I do have an Android phone. That is just what I first had and I kept the system when upgrading phones. Even my phone is an old fogey,.
My SIL has an iPhone and every time she asks me to help her figure out how to do something on it, I struggle. Computer Programers in general, think differently than non programers and Apple programers think differently than the rest of the computer world. I mean just common sense stuff like what how do you do something on the phone. If you want to do something like move a photo from the recently taken picture file to an Album. The path of poke points is different from iPhone to Android systems. If you have learned how to do it on your type phone it seems logical. On a different system the path often seems strange.

I’ll tell you that computer programmers also think differently from computer programmers. I also always struggle with the new and improved computer interfaces.

Story about my tv upgrade. Old 50” was failing so I figured I’d upgrade to a 55.  55 was not available so I chose  a60.  Fine 60 was cancelled apparently inventory mistake so I ordered a 55.  60 was delivered.  Case closed.

And to think I told my wife I wanted to go back to a flip phone when my current phone dies.  All I use it for is to make and receive calls.
