Pee Wee #15785 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Anyone ordered Q4™ SAA Revolver Grip Blanks https://guitarpartsandmore.com/productCategory.php?Q4-trade-SAA-Revolver-Grip-Blanks-382 to make ivory look like grips? How easy was it to work? Does it look like Ivory? Quote
Judah MacAbee SASS #64095 Life Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I've made 2 sets of grips with the material. It was easy to work with - files and sandpaper. The only down side was when I got them to a high polish they were great looking but slippery. Quote
DukeSoprano Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) I have been making a set with the cheaper resin Ivory blanks and I love it. Almost done, after I polished them I see some light scratches to sand out and repolish https://guitarpartsandmore.com/productCategory.php?Resin-Ivory-trade-SAA-Revolver-Grip-Panels-R-Grade-Regular-Grain-116 Edited December 25, 2024 by DukeSoprano 1 1 Quote
DukeSoprano Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Thank you, I ordered some more blanks and they were delivered in 2 days. The first ones I ordered were the thicker option. This time I ordered the 9/16 thick ones and I wish I would of ordered the 3/4 inch ones again. The 9/16 ones, to me give me too less material to work with but I'll see how they turn out. It was a lot warmer out yesterday then normal so I set my band saw and scroll saw on my tailgate and cut out 4 more sets, got out the belt sander and sanded away a lot of the material. It is messy but easy to work. Edited December 29, 2024 by DukeSoprano Quote
