I managed to lose the detention ball. While I know I can just leave the dust cover off, I’d kinda like to replace it. Does anyone know the size of the ball so I can just go try to find one at hardware store or something?

3.5 mm works really well, I ordered a set of assorted stainless steel balls from Amazon to see what size it was, the set had about 50 of the right size in it so I’m good for a while.

Merry Christmas!🤠

lol, I have one in my garage, somewhere!  It’s yours if you can find it. It was launched unexpectedly never to be seen again.  I feel your pain.

That’s the reason I bought the box with 50 of them, at least 1 is bound to turn up before I use all 50!😂🤠

Just put a new copper plated #4 steel shot pellet in my main match gun!  Last one went to Mars. GJ

Thanks. Bought a box! And yes, I have a slingshot :)

Be careful, that can put your eye out and don't shoot the table. LOL

Had one bounce off the ceiling in my garage, come down and hit the concrete floor. Heard it clear as a bell, both impacts. Start looking for it...for about 20 minutes until some bad words became audible.

My gal comes out and asks what's going on, why are you cussing. Told her the story of the indent ball and the bing - bonk ceiling floor landing.

She looked down, bends over to pick up something and says "You mean this?". Yep, the indent ball.

I thanked her for finding it...but I was thinking some bad words again.

One day while tidying the reloading room, I spotted a large primer under the edge of a plastic drawers cabinet. Poked at it to get it out, boing, gone! Still haven't after much searching, found it. Every time I roll my chair I expect to hear an explosion and need an underwear change.

I’ve removed mine if I needed to take the bolt out.

Pulling bolt to clean. Actually only need to remove the screw guide, but the dust cover moved past the ball and SPROING it were gone!

I have four of them.  One is in the rifle, one is in the tool box, and the other two are somewhere under a cabinet in a space that even air can't get too.

Bought mine from VTI Gun Parts, but pretty much any correctly sized ball bearing will do.

What we need is a heavy duty mat made out of something similar to magnetic signs for truck doors! Then when we drop something like that it will just stick where it hits. ;)

Work inside a bead-blasting box or a large cardboard box that will help catch flying loose parts you can't afford to lose!  GJ

A clear plastic bag can be handy as well.

I bought a rubber mat made for gun cleaning at either Dicks Sporting Goods or Walmart. It is 48” long by 18” or so and has a magnetic tray at one end of it that works great for cleaning the rifle. We have almost lost that same piece many times.

Several places carry them. They range from $25-$50 depending on the one you want.
