Well, there are some real works of art out there when it comes to single action grips. Some rare and exotic woods, stag, ivory and a plethora of other materials. So, pards, what do YOU feel are the best grips and why?

The new Eagle Reactive grips feel great! I haven’t bought any yet but everyone I know that has loves them.

All 3 sets of my Vaquero match pistols wear Eagle Reactive grips, I’m absolutely sold on them. Best grips I have ever used by far!

Bill Fuchs of Spring Creek Armory makes beautiful grips from about anything.

At Nationals I bought the Eagle reactive grips.  Hesitated because I had custom fitted wood grips from a well known company that definitely makes great grips.  I loved those grips but once I shot the Eagle grips there was no looking back.  Worth every penny.

The best grip is the one that fits your hand. Doesn’t matter what material it’s made from.  Colt made great grips for their first generation revolvers. Tapered in the middle, thinner at the bottom.  Eagle reactive grips are great, especially like the extended grip for shooting duelist.

I find the best grips are natural materials. I like bone and Stag. I like them because they take a beating and they last a long time and always look great.

Joe Perkins of Classic Single Action does amazing work. Top to bottom: spalted maple, burl walnut,  burl maple. He has many woods to choose from. 

We've been very happy with his work.

I too like the Colt eagle grips. Fortunetly, most of of mine have them number matching the gun and in good shape. Here is a set of grips Bill Fuchs did for a Ruger Bisley.

No such thing as a perfect grip for everybody. Only personal preference.  As a gunfighter I think fit is more important and each grip is different for each hand.   My personal preference is giraffe bone.

Wonderful, wood and the fit looks great. I love the look of great wood, exotic wood, and as a B Western shooter the looks really are something important to me. My question is do beautiful grips like these give a shooter as good of a grip as the Eagle reactive? I can find it easy (only cry a little) to pay for exotic wood but plastic at the same price just feels wrong. Yeah, I am in the Northeast and have too much time to think since the SASS season won't be back here for months.

I have been using Eagle gunfighter checkered wood since I started. Currently have on about 10 different pistols so while I would like to try the reactive ones I will probably wait till I break one of my current ones. Also I like the Hogue aluminum thin checkered on my 1911’s.

I don't have any experience with Eagle grips so I am unable to give any comparison. 

I think the only time I've ever had an issue with grip/hold is when I was truly hot and very sweaty. Otherwise, no problem.

On my Master engraved Colt that is just a show piece not a shooter it will be getting this material, they will be Gunfighter Grips brand. The material was selected out of their finest.

I also hand picked some Exhibition Turkish Walnut shown with a rough grip layout to the best of my finger painting abilities. These will also be made by Gunfighter Grips, best materials in the industry
