I always said the reloading bench should face a blank white wall, with as little distractions as possible, and I've done that for almost 20 years now...until today. See, yesterday on our mini vacay the wife and I dropped through Prescott from Jerome, ( I HATE driving that road!!), and in one shop I found this nice metal sign that just seemed to need to be there. Whaddya think? BTW, it's still NOT in my direct line of sight when loading. ;)

I like it.
Man, you sure are strict on yourself in your reloading area. Lighten up. Live a little. Put up another cool sign. :)

It is packed away right now because we are moving but my wife and I got married in Sedona and went and ate lunch in Jerome.  We bought a cool piece of copper slag at a shop there that usually hangs in my reloading room.

My reloading room has large shelves on two walls and a safe and small desk with a little drill press and a luber/sizer on it on the third wall. There’s one wall that has a closet door and a few pictures hung on it.

The loading table is in the center of the room. One side faces the ammo and supply shelves and the other side faces the safe and desk.

OH YEAH!!  There’s a window over the desk with a bamboo shade!!

When I’m reloading, (I’m fairly new at everything but shotgun shells) I’m concentrating too hard on the process to be looking around.

There ARE numerous pictures, plaques, and certificates around the top of the walls, above normal eye level. This was just a “gun room” and storage room for many years, so we hung our stuff there to make it a bit less mundane!

Probably the most orderly and least messy room in the house!!

Dave!!  Neat picture!!

I have an "original" print of the 1952 Marilyn Monroe calendar picture above my reloading bench. FIL worked for the print shop in LA that printed the picture on stock that the specific business calendar could be attached.:D

I have a couple of Martial Arts Certificates, a sign from a defense plant warning people to punch in and out themselves or be fired - happens to have my birth day and month - different year.  Couple of odds and ends otherwise, but they are not in view when I am at the loading bench.  Not a lot of wall space the way the room is laid out.

One squib in 20 years is one too many. I like to live with all my fingers, too - I knew a guy who would prime while watching TV, and wonder why some primers were sideways at the range. After he blew a rifle up from a double charge,  loaded while distracted,  I swore I'd never do that. The only two things in line of sight is a thermometer and a basic dial clock.

So far, so good.

That would be a good alias, "Copper Slag"

First time I made that drive was in the dark around 10:00 pm from Flagstaff to Prescott. Talk about treacherous! Since then it’s been in daylight, but is still a bit of a heads up experience.

Cool sign. Did you get it Jerome or Prescott?

Old Town Prescott, first time I've been there. Bill's Pizza was really good chow for lunch. Driving that nightmare at night? Yikes...

I used to have up a number of gun related tin signs near my reloading bench but once a sign or picture goes up it becomes scenery that blends in and I don’t noticed when I am focused. I do now listen to music when reloading, but no TV and zero interaction with anyone else. I used to not listen to music when reloading. Since quitting the last job I hated I like music again.
If my wife comes in to talk my reloading stops, often for the rest of the day. She knows not to distract me when reloading so she avoids talking to me unless it’s something important.

We have roads around here with copper slag bases. It get to the surface a lot with grading. A hunk gets caught on the blade and makes a nice trench down the middle of the road. They're doing another Super Fund cleanup of an old mine a few miles from here.

Old Town Prescott? Do you mean Whiskey Row on the Courthouse Plaza? I hope you stayed until dark to see the Christmas lights.

No, we had to get back to Cottonwood, unfortunately, but I told the wife next year we are going to spend a week in Prescott if we can. Besides...I REALLY don't wanna drive 89A in the dark...
