No tree and no decorations this year and it was OK.

I got my lady a couple things, did not wrap in the traditional sense, grabbed some nice paper bags from the bag collection and put an item in each. No idea where the tissue paper is, that would have been a nice touch.

Her folks gave us a few bucks, we went to a Brazilian Steak House for Christmas lunch so no cooking either.

It was nice to not have all the family stuff, the days of prep, the stress of a gathering. Today was a reward for all the years of doing that stuff.

And looking forward, now I do not need to take the lights off the house, don't have to strip the tree and haul it off, no massive leftovers in the fridge. Will check the local farm store in the next day or two as a little pumpkin bread is nice for breakfasts.

Merry Christmas everyone! And a Happy New Year!

We will probably go to the range tomorrow, my lady went and got herself a MAC 5. I'll, planning to reach out to some machinist friends to make a part for her Polish AK47 training rifle chambered in .22lr, I think I know why it is not running right. Also will get my Miroku out soon to lighten the lever safety spring. This as soon as the next freeze sets in. Once the winter ends and rains wash the salt off the roads, we can get our fun cars out of the garage again.

It isn't that we can't afford more this holiday, more that we already have or simply go get anything we want. While not rich, our limit really is time. While it might be a bit soon to actually be old, this is time we earned and we deserve it and we are enjoying it.

Speaking of time, I did not have time over the last few days. I think I will go get some lottery tickets in the next couple days, the jackpot is ridiculous again. I could never spend it all but maybe could do something big for the community. Would keep some for a shop, more guns, and more cars.

I cooked up a big batch of spaghetti sauce a couple of weeks ago and I froze two big bags of it for later.  Last night was later!  We didn’t want to cook, so we broke out a batch and thawed it out, limbered up some fettuccine and feasted on that for supper!

Spent the morning doing some preparation for tomorrow’s surgery. Then we fixed up some snacks for Christmas dinner at the sister-in-law’s and when the grandsons arrived, we headed out.

Three generations around the table after a gift exchange!! Beef tenderloin, scalloped potatoes, yeast rolls, ham ‘n’ cheese sliders, broccoli casserole, and fresh fruit!

Boomers, 70’s kids, 80’s children, tweens, and teens!!

A good time was had by all!!

Best of luck to you tomorrow.

Like I said!  I’m having more surgery in the morning, but I’ve promised myself that I will be in my shop doing something productive for New Year’s Day, just to start the year off right.

I’ve collected up all the parts to straighten up the little S10 pickup that we got for my youngest grandson.

I figure that me ‘n’ Hatfield and the older grandson can knock it out in a day!  New grill, headlights, and a passenger door for the truck will put it in tiptop shape.  It runs and drives great and it has new tires and battery!

The boy’s birthday is a little over three weeks away!

He’s had a great Christmas and his birthday will be even better!!

OH!! YEAH!! My birthday is the week before his!!  This’ll be a great present for me too!!

With Hatfield’s birthday the first of December, Christmas, New Year’s, my birthday, and Kale’s birthday, we get to celebrate for nearly two months!! 😜👍😎
