So I have a pair of AWA Peacekeepers in .45 Colt.  They were the second pair of pistols that I had for cowboy action shooting that I bought at Guns of August in maybe 2002 or 2003.  Still have them.  Never had a problem with them, but got hooked on .44 WCF a couple a three years later.  Anyone else shoot them?

And Merry Christmas to all.

I had three .357 AWA Longhorns for awhile - sold them to somebody on here in 2011.

I have a nickel plated Thunderer that I am attempting to make a set of grips for

What all did AWA make?    Obviously from this thread, they made SAA clones, and over the years, what I have read here about them has been generally positive.   I of course, know they made a Lightning rifle, and while experience has been excellent, the general consensus seems to be that they were hit or miss.

Did they make anything else?

I've read about the lawsuit from Colt and stories of (mis)management, and conflicting stories of how they got the parts, but I am just wondering what they made.

Colt sued AWA because their "horse" on the grips was too close to the "Colt" on their, and they won.  The owner of AWA at the time sent me about ten pairs for free just to get ride of them...

Do you happen to still have a pair for sale?

Colt did sue them, but they sort of won, it was actually settled with no monetary judgement.  Per court documents in September of 2004, AWA agreed to not use the words Colt, Peacemaker, Peacekeeper, Single Action Army, the rampant colt symbol, and the armspear crest symbol.  AWA agreed to drop their countersuit that Colt was false advertising made in America because Colt was casting guns in Canada.  It's a very long read.

They started out with the Peacekeeper and the Longhorn.  The Peacekeeper was closest to the Colt.  They made a Thunderer which looked like a Colt Lightning pistol.  They made the lightning pump rifle.  All of these had a lot of variations to them like finish, barrel lengths, octagon barrel, etc.  Then after they settled the lawsuit with Colt, they made the AWA Classic and the AWA Ultimate which I think is the nicest and smoothest of them.  I own 4 and they seem very good, but I have not shot all of them or enough to attest to longevity.  I have two Peacekeepers, one in hard chrome and one CCH, and two Ultimates, one CCH and one all blued with an octagon barrel.  From what I've read and know of mine, I'd trust the Ultimates more than the Peacekeepers and I have no interest in buying the lesser finished Longhorn combined with quality question marks that comes with it.

I have 4 varieties of them.  I really like them for the way they look and the actions, but I don't shoot them enough to speak to their longevity.
