I kind of like the first one, although I have no idea what he's saying.  Better than some of the new "country" music out there.  The second one sounds more gospel than country.

I think it sounds a lot better than most of the country music out there now.

 

In my mind there's a lot of crossover with country and gospel.   I'd almost be tempted to say that country grew out of gospel music. 

 

With my tinnitus I have a lot of trouble understanding the words of songs,  so it's usually the overall sound that appeals to me.  In the Christmas Music thread you may have noticed that most of the ones I posted were in foreign languages.   I like the sound.
