Barbwire Bart Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 New member here and was wandering if anyone has any experience with the Turkish made Citadel coach gun or the Navy Arms coach gun. any info greatly appreciated Barbwire
Abe E.S. Corpus SASS #87667 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 A shooter in my club (no longer shooting due to health) had a Navy Arms shotgun. Deuce Stevens posted a “first look” video two years ago but I did not see a follow up. Any side-by-side is going to need some work done to be usable in a match. I would not buy without first talking to one of the experienced cowboy gunsmiths who has been “under the hood” of that particular brand. Some of the Turkish shotguns have a good reputation with cowboy shooters. Some have been imported under different names.
Currahee Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 I asked about this gun in a previous post. No responses whatsoever. So it is a mystery. I found a video where this guy plays with one, fires it, proving nothing. Good looking gun, but turk quality ranges from okay to awful
Diamond Jake Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I've been using a Navy Arms Coach for about three years. It's made by Huglu and I believe it's internally the same as the CZ "G2" models. I like how it shoots and handles, except that when first modified we thought we lightened the springs a bit too much, as some brands of shotshells (especially WIN and Cheddite primers) occasionally FTF. It's running pretty slick now, after fiddling with just the right spring tension. But in retrospect I probably should have just paid a couple hundred more and gotten a CZ.
Barbwire Bart Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 Thank you for the responses. I ended up with a Charles Daly 500. I like it a lot
Slow Mo Dern Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Howdy! I just saw a Citadel 12-gauge coach gun in the local gun store. They just got one in. I had never seen one before. It was reasonably priced around $600. It was very hard to open and very hard to close. It had internal hammers. I didn't spend much time with it after I handled it. Definitely would need much gunsmith work before using it for CAS. Congratulations on your Charles Daly 500. Mo
