I think a steady hand is a good thing to have when using a chainsaw.

Yup! I mostly retired my chainsaw as well.  Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't wearing cut resistant trousers - mine are old and orange but they jam the chain quick enough to keep all the important parts attached.
