Kodiak Bill Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 My 89 year old neighbor asked me to look at some stuff he wanted to sell. The only thing I know about Alfonso rigs is that they might be worth some money. Is this rig anything special? What price should I list it for? 1 1 Quote
KingSnake Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Nice stitching. Looks really well made. I have no idea about pricing. Quote

Sagebrush Burns, SASS # 14226 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Alfonso leather is very high quality, about as good as gun leather gets. 1 Quote

You might want to try YouTube. All the best, Mo From a time before pretentious folks thought to add :"cowboy"! is your friend: Alfonso Gun Leather. I'd quiz your neighbor about what connection he had to fast draw. Quote
X Mark Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 At one time it was the "Holy Grail " of gun leather ! Folks like Paladin wore Alfonso's gun leather . The workmanship and materials were always top shelf ! Quote
X Mark Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 There are two similar rigs on Ebay right now that are priced at $1200 and $350 ............ Quote
watab kid Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 nice looking rig but it hangs too low for me im not a fast draw guy Quote
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Guns International has a couple of used Alfonso rigs for sale under Gun Parts and Accessories/ Holsters and Belts. They are in the $400-500 range and, although used, they are in better shape than the one you show. Even if the rig was revitalized, I doubt that it would be worth doing in terms of return. Quote
Smokin Gator SASS #29736 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 To me the wear on that rig is similar to a nice blued gun with honest wear on it. Not abused just used. Of course it wouldn't sell for the same as in excellent condition but it looks good to me. Quote
watab kid Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 i agree with that assessment , it looks lightly used but all honest wear that hurts nothing Quote
Savvy Jack Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Arlo Ojala perfected the fast draw rigs. Alfonso worked for Arvo until setting out on his own. Arvo actually had to sue Alfonso for a patent infringement, and won. I think Andy Anderson was also a quality fast draw holster manufacturer. Quote
