And you have the correct paper money for the time period. If you went back to 1968, would you rather spend your money on M1 carbines - NRA good - for $66 each. Or still in the wrap 15 round magazines for $1 each?

Lots of things in those old adds that I bought and would like to buy again.

I bought two M-1 carbines and  box of a dozen or so "banana clips" for under $100.00.

The carbines were one in my car and one in my wife's car.  My son still has his mother's gun, my son-in-law has mine.

The only problem with that is that today, .30 Carbine AMMO is hard to find. I would get a few of those Walther PPs. Even in .32, they're probably worth a lot today.

And then I'd find my Dad and tell him to invest heavily in IBM.

Make your own! All the components are still widely available at semi-reasonable prices.

Brass, 110gr bullets, IMR 4227 or H110 powder and small rifle primers will cost less than 1/2 the price of new ammo!

Apple, Yahoo, Google and Intel stock.
Then I could buy all the guns I want, and live in a state where I can do so.

I joined IBM in 1973, spent 25 years there.
It was intended more as humor than factual.

My dad retired from IBM in 1979 with 25 years there.

He had the good years.  I did too for the first 10, the next 15 not so much

He more than once said he wished he would have bought IBM stock in his early days. His computers filled rooms, and went from punch cards to spools of tape.

Okay, back to guns…

I think I would concentrate on M1 Garands and Colt 1911s. :)

You all must have better eyes than me. I see no 45s, no Garands, and no Johnsons.

The Walther PP in .32 ACP - they're selling good condition for over $1000 each, and NIB for over $1500 each.

Plus -I really like the Walther and even more in .32
