Not long ago, I got to shoot my 1879 Rolling Block in .43 Spanish.  BP cartridges of course. Once at home, I tumbled the brass for quite a while. Today, I was decapping and sizing that brass and the sizer was a very tight fit and kept pulling the decapper sizer out of the die. So, I tightened the collet that holds it wherever you want it but it kept pulling out. So, I decided to thread the stem thinking the collet would hold better, but it didn't. Sooo, I also threaded the inside of the collet and now it works perfect. I have not done much tap and die work but I recently bought a set and I've needed it several times since. Well, that's my story.

The recapping pin may be too large for the flash hole in the case.

If this is the case chuck the decapping pin in your drill and turn it down with some emory paper.

The pin is OK, it was the sizer part that was so tight. Maybe the BP residue made it so tight even though they were tumbled.

If you are using Lee dies, you might try changing the expander stem in your die for this one.

In case you are not aware when you resize a bottle neck rifle case. On the down stroke the case neck is sized down pretty good. As you withdraw the case from the die, a button on the decapping stem expands the case neck back out to the proper size for the bullet.

To make it easier for the expander button to expand the case mouth you have to put a tiny bit of lube inside the case mouth. This is done with a case neck brush.  They come in large, medium, or small depending on the caliber you are reloading. 43 Spanish should use the large brush.

Some dies have the option to use a carbide button to eliminate the need for case neck lubrication.

Here is an old discussion on case expanders and Lee dies.
